Neighborhood Socioeconomic Status and Short‐Term Functional Outcomes in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Individuals with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) can accumulate functional status (FS) impairment. We evaluated the association between neighborhood socioeconomic disadvantage, as measured by the Area Deprivation Index (ADI), and FS in a national SLE sample.

Opportunistic interference management

2009 IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory, 2009
Interference is a central feature of the wireless channel. However, in many cases, the interferer's activity can be bursty and it is overly pessimistic to assume that interference is always present. In this paper, we use a degraded message set formulation of the two-user interference channel to study the statistical gains that can be harnessed from ...

Interference management and handoff techniques

IEEE Vehicular Technology Magazine, 2009
Intersector interference management is crucial in universal frequency reuse systems like OFDMA. In this article, we described advanced interference management techniques for future OFDMA communication systems. Such techniques include dynamic frequency reuse, intersector interference-based power control, and effective intersector handoff using disjoint ...
