A direct-sequence spread spectrum (DS/SS) receiver for suppressing multiple-access interference in direct-sequence code-division multiple-access (DS/CDMA) communication systems is introduced. The proposed receiver does not require knowledge of other users' spreading codes, timing, or phase information.

Interference suppression by biased nonlinearities

A method for suppressing the interference by biased nonlinearities is presented. The memoryless nonlinearity taken into account is of the form \(y(x) = (|x |- \xi)^\nu\) for \(|x |> \xi\), and \(y(x) = 0\) for \(|x |\leq \xi\), where \(\xi > 0\) and \(\nu\) a positive number greater than \(-1\).
