Interference suppression via orthogonal projections

[1992] IEEE Sixth SP Workshop on Statistical Signal and Array Processing, 2003
A technique for suppressing interference in phased array antennas, called the orthogonal projection algorithm, is described. Its performance is characterized theoretically and validated using Monte-Carlo simulations. An orthonormal basis for the interference subspace is calculated in the absence of target, and interference is suppressed by projection ...

Cochannel Talker Interference Suppression

1991
Abstract : Cochannel talker interference suppression is defined as the processing of a waveform containing two simultaneous speech signals, referred to as the target and the jammer, to produce a signal containing an estimate of the target speech signal alone.

Radio Frequency Interference Suppression

2011
Section 3.8 presented the problem of the radio frequency interference (RFI) environment in ultra wideband (UWB) radar operation from the standpoint of background clutter. This chapter will cover the significant design factors needed to operate a foliage penetration (FOPEN) radar, in either synthetic aperture radar (SAR) or ground moving target ...

Interference suppression by biased nonlinearities

IEEE Transactions on Information Theory, 1995
A method for suppressing the interference by biased nonlinearities is presented. The memoryless nonlinearity taken into account is of the form \(y(x) = (|x |- \xi)^\nu\) for \(|x |> \xi\), and \(y(x) = 0\) for \(|x |\leq \xi\), where \(\xi > 0\) and \(\nu\) a positive number greater than \(-1\).

Adaptive nonlinear suppression of interference

MILCOM 88, 21st Century Military Communications - What's Possible?'. Conference record. Military Communications Conference, 2003
A signal processing technique designed to suppress interference in direct sequence spread spectrum receiving systems is described. The basic idea is to optimize the detection process dynamically in the presence of current interference. This is accomplished by estimating the statistics of the interference and then using this information to derive a ...

Median filters to suppress interference

2015 IEEE International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC), 2015
Median filters can be successfully used to eliminate impulsive interference and noise on signal lines overcoming the difficulties of linear filters, which are not suitable to address this problem. Median and median type filters have been popular for the last forty years; they found their main applications in image and speech processing.

Interference suppression through digital filters

8th International Conference on Electromagnetic Interference and Compatibility, 2003
The main focus of the paper is the implementation of digital filter in real time systems, for interference rejection and SNR enhancement. Specific case has been taken for analysis viz interference in sensors, due to cell phone frequencies. It is observed that normal analogue filters presently fitted on various communication systems and sensors are not ...

Ionospheric Interference Suppression in HFSWR

2006 1ST IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications, 2006
Over the past two decades, significant advances have been made in the use of high frequency surface wave radar (HFSWR) for remote sensing in an ocean environment. As one of the main outside interference, ionospheric interference may badly affect radar's performance.

ECG interference suppressed using a harmonic generator

Australasian Physics & Engineering Sciences in Medicine, 2009
Non-linear loading of the utilities supply introduced significant electromagnetic field (EMF) interference severe enough to disrupt electrocardiograph (ECG) monitoring and recordings in the new Emergency Department (ED) at the Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH).
