We demonstrate a nontraditional design of the Sagnac interferometer by replacing the commonly used beam splitter with a linear-optical Grover multiport. This substitution creates a pole at the origin of the device parameter space, with an associated resonance in the output intensity.

A Large Area Fiber Optic Gyroscope on multiplexed fiber network [PDF]
We describe a fiber optical gyroscope based on the Sagnac effect realized on a multiplexed telecom fiber network. Our loop encloses an area of 20 km2 and coexists with Internet data traffic.

Lensmeter using a lateral shearing interferometer [PDF]
The use of a laser shear interferometer for checking the collimation condition within a lensmeter is proposed. The interferometer consist of a wedged glass plate which produces a shear along the ortogonal direction to the wedge; when the fringes at the ...

High-Extinction Photonic Filters by Cascaded Mach–Zehnder Interferometer-Coupled Resonators
In this study, we demonstrate high-extinction stop-band photonic filters based on Mach–Zehnder interferometer (MZI)-coupled silicon nitride (Si3N4) resonators fabricated using I-line lithography technology.

Calibration methods for a dual-wavelength interferometer system [PDF]
Multiple wavelength interferometry has long been considered an option for the measurement of large aspheric slope departures. In particular, a synthetic wavelength offers a variety of approaches by which large phase excursions can be unwrapped.

A compact interferometer insensitive to scanning speed variations [PDF]
A compact moving optical-wedge interferometer (CMOWI) is presented. This device consists of a moving optical wedge (MOW), a fixed optical wedge (FOW), a fixed compensating plate, and a beam-splitting cube.
