Detection of Harmonic and Interharmonics Contents in Water Desalination Plants' Distribution System Based on Deep Learning Algorithms

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, Volume 13, Issue 11, Page 5451-5464, November 2025.
Developed harmonics and interharmonics detection framework. ABSTRACT Water desalination plants are significant consumers of electric power, making them some of the largest energy users in power grids. Their electricity consumption presents an urgent challenge for efficient and sustainable operation, and they are among the most power‐quality‐threatening

Harmonic and interharmonic detection based on adaptive wavelet and improved EWT

open access: yesZhejiang dianli
To address the issues of noise sensitivity and over-decomposition when decomposing harmonic signals using empirical wavelet transform (EWT), a method based on adaptive wavelet denoising and improved EWT is proposed for detecting harmonics and ...

Induction Motor Supplied with Voltage Containing Symmetrical Subharmonics and Interharmonics

open access: yesEnergies, 2022
Sinusoidal voltage fluctuations can be considered a specific result of the occurrence of voltage subharmonics and interharmonics, which are components of low frequency or not being an integer multiple of the frequency of the fundamental voltage harmonic.

Optimal control of single‐phase microgrid with photovoltaic and energy storage for improving operation performance and seamless state transition

open access: yesEnergy Conversion and Economics, Volume 6, Issue 5, Page 324-340, October 2025.
Abstract Under voltage sags, swells, stochastic load profiles and harmonic voltage distortion, conventional synchronisation mechanisms often fail to track the grid voltage immediately and accurately, leading to degraded control performance and potential power quality violations.

Grid Integration of Single‐Phase Inverters Using a Robust PLL‐Less Control Strategy for Renewable Energy Applications

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, Volume 13, Issue 9, Page 4539-4552, September 2025.
ABSTRACT In this paper, a PLL‐less control technique for single‐phase grid‐connected voltage source converter (VSC) system is proposed that overcomes shortcomings in traditional PLL‐based and existing PLL‐less techniques. The proposed method avoids the use of a PLL and thus significantly decreases the computational complexity of the system as well as ...

Kullback–Leibler Divergence‐Based Fault Detection Scheme for 100% Inverter Interfaced Autonomous Microgrids

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, Volume 13, Issue 6, Page 2891-2900, June 2025.
ABSTRACT The development of a dependable and secure protection system is critical for further integration of renewable energy sources into electrical energy systems. To address the bidirectional power flow and limited fault current contribution of 100% inverter‐based microgrids, this article presents a differential fault detection scheme (DFDI) based ...

New Power Balance Equations for Modelling Electric Arc Furnace

open access: yesIET Generation, Transmission &Distribution, Volume 19, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
‐ Proposing two new power balance equations which consider both arc radius and length. ‐ Proposing four new EAF models. ‐ Time varying characteristics of the model are preserved as model parameters change every half cycle. ‐ Like the actual cases, the time variations are non‐stationary as different ARMA models are selected at every run of the models. ‐

Research on Vibration and Noise of Converter Transformer Based on LCL Converter

open access: yesIET Generation, Transmission &Distribution, Volume 19, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
The paper outlines the topology of the new LCL converter. Through theoretical analysis and experimental verification, it has been confirmed that the proposed LCL converter not only effectively sup‐presses harmonics but also significantly reduces the vibration and noise of the converter transformers.
