Interharmonic - Flicker Curves of Lamps and Compatibility Lever for Interharmonic Voltages

2007 IEEE Lausanne Power Tech, 2007
The aim of the paper is to describe procedures for systematical determination of immunity of lamps to supply voltage variations caused by interharmonics. The curve of lamp immunity is presented as an interharmonic magnitude versus interharmonic frequency curve and is called interharmonic-flicker curve.

On the phase sequence characteristics of interharmonics

2006 IEEE Power Engineering Society General Meeting, 2005
Summary form only given. Phase sequence is an important attribute of voltages and currents in three phase power systems. This paper investigates the sequence characteristics of interharmonic components. Three common cases involving interharmonics are analyzed.

Interharmonic-Flicker Curves

IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, 2005
Flickers and interharmonics have an inherent relationship. The magnitude of a voltage can fluctuate if it contains interharmonics. This paper proposes a limit for interharmonics by utilizing the published limits on voltage flicker. The limit is presented as an interharmonic-magnitude versus interharmonic-frequency curve and is called interharmonic ...

Issues related to interharmonics

IEEE Power Engineering Society General Meeting, 2004., 2004
Some of the most remarkable issues related to interharmonic modelling and simulation are presented. Starting from the basic mathematical aspects, attention is firstly devoted to interharmonic frequency and amplitude variability. Then, the extension of the classical models developed for harmonic modelling to include interharmonics is discussed with ...

IEC flickermeter response to interharmonic pollution

2004 11th International Conference on Harmonics and Quality of Power (IEEE Cat. No.04EX951), 2005
The paper discusses the response of flickermeters to interharmonic voltage pollution from theoretical and experimental points of view. Light flicker can be caused by interharmonics because these components are able to introduce fluctuations both in rms and peak value of supply voltage.

Voltage Flicker Caused by Two Interharmonics

2006 Canadian Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering, 2006
Flickers and interharmonics have an inherent relationship. The magnitude of a voltage can fluctuate if it contains interharmonics. This paper investigates the amount of voltage fluctuation caused by two interharmonic components since interharmonics are often produced in pairs.

A New Method for Interharmonic Identification

2009 Asia-Pacific Power and Energy Engineering Conference, 2009
A new method based on improved multiple signal classification (MUSIC) algorithm and independent component analysis (ICA) method is applied in this paper. In contrast with the original MUSIC algorithm, the proposed version can give good performance at lower signal/noise ratio (SNR).

A self‐tuning harmonic and interharmonic processing technique

European Transactions on Electrical Power, 2002
AbstractMeasurement and analysis experiences have highlighted great difficulties in detecting and measuring interharmonics due to their small amplitudes and their consequent vulnerability to spectral leakage of harmonic tones. A new approach that has a general validity and results fully compatible with the latest IEC standard draft is presented.

Harmonic and interharmonic distortion modeling in multiconverter systems

IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, 1995
The problem of modeling multi-power converter systems in presence of harmonic and interharmonic distortion is considered. Specifically, current source rectifiers are considered as distortion sources, some supplying DC motors and the remaining supplying inverters feeding AC machines.

On the interharmonic components generated by adjustable speed drives

10th International Conference on Harmonics and Quality of Power. Proceedings (Cat. No.02EX630), 2004
The interharmonic generation process is addressed with reference to high power adjustable speed drives based on double stage conversion systems using line commutated or pulse width modulated inverters. Reference is made to ideal supply conditions. Formulas to forecast the interharmonic frequencies due to the interaction between the rectifier and the ...
