A somatic multiple myeloma mutation unravels a mechanism of oligomerization‐mediated product inhibition in GGPPS

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
Geranylgeranyl diphosphate synthase (GGPPS) plays a key role in multiple myeloma biology. Using crystallography, mass spectrometry, and fluorescence spectroscopy, this study shows that a somatic multiple myeloma cell line mutation destabilizes inter‐dimer interactions, resulting in increased GGPPS activity by facilitating product releas.

Tks5 interactome reveals endoplasmic‐reticulum‐associated translation machinery in invadosomes

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
Invadosomes—dynamic structures enabling matrix invasion—include rosettes, dots, and linear forms, depending on cell type and context. Using the invadosome marker Tks5 (SH3PXD2A), we identified shared molecular features across cell types. Mass spectrometry revealed components of the translation machinery, notably EIF4B, and ER‐associated proteins within

Defining the interactome of the pancreas‐specific SPCA2 isoform (SPCA2C) identifies unique links to store‐operated Ca2+ entry

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
A BioID screen identified interacting proteins for secretory pathway calcium (Ca2+) ATPase 2C (SPCA2C) and showed new links to store‐operated Ca2+ entry. Interactions between SPCA2C and Orai1 were confirmed, along with newly identified interactions with STIM1 and CCDC47.

Propionibacterium acnes evades microbicidal phagocytosis by inhibiting the mitochondrial biogenesis of nucleus pulposus cells

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
P. acnes infection impairs the mitochondrial biogenesis of nucleus pulposus cells (NPCs) through the AMPK/SIRT‐1/PGC‐1α signaling pathway. This results in impaired mitochondria that are unable to generate sufficient ATP, and impaired delivery of mitochondrial reactive oxygen species to carry out the bactericidal process effectively.

Steering Digital Transformation: An Iterative Landscape Approach

open access: yesInformation Systems Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Digital transformation (DT) is in the limelight of organisations and society. However, it is challenging to steer a DT endeavour, which is also difficult to assess because of its complex nature. Instead of focusing solely on the typical end result of DT, we propose using a DT landscape approach.

Implementation contexts and strategies for alternative peripherally inserted central catheter material and design selection: A qualitative exploration using CFIR/ERIC approach

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Nursing, EarlyView.
Abstract Aim To explore the implementation contexts and strategies that influence the uptake and selection of alternative peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) materials and design. Design Qualitative evaluation of end user perspectives within a randomized control trial of different PICC materials and design.

Practising Safe Care in Critical Care: A Reflexive Thematic Analysis

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Nursing, EarlyView.
Abstract Aim To explore the meaning of ‘safety’ as it applies to critical care nurses during daily care practice in the intensive care setting. Design A qualitative study design was employed. Methods The study enlisted 18 critical care nurses and nurse leaders from three hospitals in Sweden. Interview data were collected in 2017 and in 2024.

Interprofessional and Inter‐Organisational Collaboration in the COVID‐19 Vaccination Programme: Lessons From North Central London

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Nursing, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Aim To discuss inter‐organisational collaboration in the context of the successful COVID‐19 vaccination programme in North Central London (NCL). Design An action research study in 2023–2024. Methods Six action research cycles used mixed qualitative methods. Results Four findings are presented which illustrate inter‐organisational collaboration

Inequalities in the Everyday of Care: Dimensions of the Incorporation of Intersectional Theory in Nursing Practice

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Nursing, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Aim To offer a practical proposal regarding the implications of integrating intersectional theory into nursing practice, drawing from the experiences and narratives of nurses across diverse professional contexts. Design Qualitative Grounded theory, following the constructivist approach offered by Kathy Charmaz.
