Interior Permanent-Magnet Synchronous Motors for Adjustable-Speed Drives

IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, 1986
Interior permanent-magnet (IPM) synchronous motors possess special features for adjustable-speed operation which distinguish them from other classes of ac machines. They are robust high powerdensity machines capable of operating at high motor and inverter efficiencies over wide speed ranges, including considerable ranges of constant-power operation ...

Multiobjective Optimal Design for Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor

IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 2009
This paper presents a method on a multiobjective optimal design of interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) with V-shaped permanent magnet rotor for high performance. In general, a design method adopting equivalent magnetic circuit is used for basic design of IPMSM.

Torque ripple suppression in an interior permanent magnet synchronous motor

2008 18th International Conference on Electrical Machines, 2008
In this paper, a new method for shape design optimization, using sensitivity analysis on the finite element (FE) model of an interior permanent magnet (IPM) synchronous motor, based on torque waveform, is proposed. Torque pulsations are our objective function for minimization.

Average torque optimization in interior permanent magnet synchronous motors

2008 18th International Conference on Electrical Machines, 2008
In this paper, a new method for shape design optimization, using sensitivity analysis on the finite element (FE) model of an interior permanent magnet synchronous motor, is proposed. Average torque is our objective for optimization. It shows the optimized motor has more average torque in compare with the conventional motor.

Intelligent speed control of interior permanent magnet synchronous motors

Conference Record of 1998 IEEE Industry Applications Conference. Thirty-Third IAS Annual Meeting (Cat. No.98CH36242), 2002
Precise control of the permanent magnet synchronous motor over wide speed range is an engineering challenge. This paper considers the design and implementation of two novel techniques of speed control for an interior permanent magnet synchronous motor using hybrid current and artificial neural network controllers.

The Research on Interior Permanent Magnetic Synchronous Motor MTPA Control

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2014
The research on maximum-torque-per-ampere (MTPA) control of Interior Permanent Magnetic Synchronous Motor (IPMSM) is presented in this paper. Based on the IPMSM mathematical model in d-q reference frame, the equations of d, q axis currents and magnetic torque were derived by using extreme value principle.

Iron Loss Measurement of Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor

2019
The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) as well as the Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS) proposes standard methods for the measurement of soft magnetic material iron loss density. Under these measurements, the magnetic field applied to the material is strictly unidirectional and purely sinusoidal.
