Interlayer interactions in graphites [PDF]
Based on ab initio calculations of both the ABC- and AB-stacked graphites, interlayer potentials (i.e., graphene-graphene interaction) are obtained as a function of the interlayer spacing using a modified Möbius inversion method, and are used to calculate basic physical properties of graphite.

Interlayer Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya Interactions [PDF]
Interfacial Dzyaloshinkii-Moriya interaction defines a rotational sense for the magnetization of two-dimensional films making it responsible for the formation of chiral magnetic structures like spin-spirals and skyrmions in those films. Here we show by means of atomistic calculations that in heterostructures magnetic layers can be additionally coupled ...

Ion Drift and Polarization in Thin SiO2 and HfO2 Layers Inserted in Silicon on Sapphire
To reduce the built-in positive charge value at the silicon-on-sapphire (SOS) phase border obtained by bonding and a hydrogen transfer, thermal silicon oxide (SiO2) layers with a thickness of 50–310 nm and HfO2 layers with a thickness of 20 nm were ...
