How We Simulate Nanopores

open access: yesSmall Methods, EarlyView.
Nanopore technology has revolutionized single‐molecule sensing, yet it suffers from an inherent interpretive challenge. Molecular dynamics has emerged as a go‐to method for determining the relationship between the structure of translocating molecules and the nanopore current signals.

A High Efficient High Input Power Factor Interleaved Boost Converter [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
In this paper an improved ZVT interleaved boost PFC topology is introduced. The proposed ZVT interleaved boost converter is composed of two cell boost conversion units and an active auxiliary circuit.

Fixing Ill‐Formed UTF‐16 Strings With SIMD Instructions

open access: yesSoftware: Practice and Experience, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background We must fix ill‐formed UTF‐16 strings, where surrogate pairs are mismatched. Programming languages such as JavaScript provide functions that replace mismatched surrogates with the Unicode replacement character (U + FFFD). Objectives We seek to accelerate the correction of ill‐formed UTF‐16 strings.

Dissecting Glioma Heterogeneity: A Deep Hybrid Graph Convolutional Network With Hinge Attention for Causal‐Effect Explainability

open access: yesCAAI Transactions on Intelligence Technology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Brain tumour classification is a critical task in medical imaging that requires accurate and interpretable solutions to assist in clinical decision‐making. In this paper, we present GraphConvNet‐X, a novel hybrid model that integrates convolutional neural networks (CNNs) for spatial feature extraction with graph neural networks (GNNs) that ...

Design and performance of a capacitor‐based burn‐through monitor for high‐power X‐ray beams at XFEL facilities

open access: yesJournal of Synchrotron Radiation, EarlyView.
We present the results of testing 92 prototypes of a capacitor‐based burn‐through monitor at the LCLS XCS and XPP endstations. We quantify the beam energy density thresholds required to induce a detectable high‐voltage electrical short prior to complete burn‐through and demonstrate the reliability of this scalable, low‐cost solution for machine and ...

UBVH: Unified Bounding Volume and Scene Geometry Representation for Ray Tracing

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract Bounding volume hierarchies (BVHs) are currently the most common data structure used to accelerate ray tracing. The existing BVH methods distinguish between the bounding volume representation associated with the interior BVH nodes and the scene geometry representation associated with leaf nodes.

Authoring Terrestrial Planets with Diffusion Models

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract To support the design and subsequent generation of terrestrial planets for use in the creative media, we propose a solution that employs a generative model trained on satellite data from planetary bodies with a defined solid surface, such as the Earth and Mars.

CuRast: Cuda‐Based Software Rasterization for Billions of Triangles

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract This paper presents a CUDA‐based software rasterizer capable of rendering up to a billion unique triangles, or up to 4 billion instanced triangles, in real time at 60 fps on an RTX 5090. By specifically targeting dense, opaque meshes, our approach is able to outperform the native GPU rasterization pipeline in these scenarios.
