Multisampling in interleaved converters and modular multilevel converters

IECON 2016 - 42nd Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2016
This paper presents a method for sampling the analog variables and running the controller in multi-cell converters with a frequency higher than the switching frequency. First we introduce the multi-cell converters and highlight their similarities. Next we describe the devised method and explain the strategy to avoid simultaneous sampling and switching ...

Research of an interleaved boost converter with four interleaved boost convert cells

2009 Asia Pacific Conference on Postgraduate Research in Microelectronics & Electronics (PrimeAsia), 2009
Boost converters are widely used in the low-to-high DC/DC application and power-factor-corrected circuits. Based on the interleaved boost converter with coupled inductors, a converter consisting of four interleaved boost converter cells is proposed in this paper.

A novel interleaved LLC resonant converter

IECON 2013 - 39th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2013
This paper presents dual LLC converters in parallel connection. Nevertheless, proposed converter efficiently integrated two LLC resonant tanks, it successfully reduce the current stress of components and increase step-down conversion ratio with higher power density and less component number than conventional dual LLC converters. All active switches are

Time interleaved converter arrays

1980 IEEE International Solid-State Circuits Conference. Digest of Technical Papers, 1980
High-speed monolithic converters normally use a variation of the flash technique, which 2/SUP n/ comparators in parallel to obtain a fast n-bit conversion. Although this method allows for high converter bandwidth, it is not very area efficient, and results in large die sizes for even modest resolution converters.

Magnetic integration for interleaved converters

Eighteenth Annual IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition, 2003. APEC '03., 2004
In this paper several techniques for integration of magnetic components in interleaved converters are analyzed. Magnetic components define the way the energy is transformed. Several opposite approaches can be considered: from decoupled integrated inductors to tightly coupled inductors.

Switched control of interleaved converters

2009 IEEE Vehicle Power and Propulsion Conference, 2009
In this paper, a time varying switching control of interleaved converters is proposed. The controller has the feature of being simple and it is able to guarantee global voltage regulation. The controller is based on the piece-continuous model of the converter and it works by switching between performance surfaces that depends on the state vector.

Time-interleaved Analog-to-Digital Converters

2011
This book describes the research carried out by our PhD student Simon Louwsma at the University of Twente, The Netherlands in the field of high-speed Analogto- Digital (AD) converters. AD converters are crucial circuits for modern systems where information is stored or processed in digital form.

Time-interleaved analog-to-digital converters

2008 IEEE Custom Integrated Circuits Conference, 2008
This paper provides a tutorial review of time-interleaved analog-to-digital converters. After explaining the impact of offset, gain, timing and other mismatches on converter performance, current solutions to the mismatch problems are presented. The paper concludes with a summary of the current-state-of-the art for time-interleaved analog-to-digital ...

An improved interleaved forward converter

2006 37th IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference, 2006
Operations and steady-state analysis for an improved interleaved forward converter topology are presented in this paper. Not only Zero-voltage-switching (ZVS) can be achieved through the resonance that exists between the transformers magnetizing inductances and the parasitic capacitance of switches, but also proper transformer reset and lower output ...

Time-Interleaved SAR and Slope Converters

2012
This paper investigates time-interleaved SAR and time-interleaved slope converters, targeting low-power, low-resolution, high-speed applications. Fundamentally, these two architectures can be relatively power-efficient as compared to other architectures.
