On Interleaving in Timed Automata [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We propose a remedy to that part of the state-explosion problem for timed automata which is due to interleaving of actions. We prove the following quite surprising result: the union of all zones reached by different interleavings of the same set of transitions is convex.

Interleaver Design for Parallel Concatenated Block Codes With Arbitrary Lengths

open access: yesIEEE Access
Parallel Concatenated Block (PCB) codes are conventionally constituted by two identical linear systematic block codes, as component codes, linked by an interleaver. In general, the PCB code’s interleaver length (or message length) is the square of

Enhanced Blind Interleaver Parameters Estimation Algorithm for Noisy Environment

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
This paper proposes a blind interleaver parameters estimation method enhanced by identifying relatively error-less partial symbols among intercepted streams.

Flexible Chemiresistive Chitosan‐Glycerol Sensors on Laser‐Induced Graphene Electrodes for Room‐Temperature Ammonia Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Flexible Chitosan‐glycerol sensor integrated with porous laser‐induced graphene (LIG) electrodes enable room‐temperature chemiresistive detection of ammonia (NH3) and proof‐of‐concept detection of fish spoilage. ABSTRACT We report a metal‐free sensor platform combining laser induced graphene (LIG) electrodes with drop‐deposited, glycerol‐plasticized ...

Efficient Selection of Circular and Random Interleaver for Turbo Codes Multiuser CDMA System with Hadamard Spreading code in AWGN and Rayleigh Fading Channels

open access: yesJournal of Engineering and Sustainable Development, 2012
Recently, turbo codes have attracted many researchers because of the codes astonishing performance at low signal to noise ratio SNR. The interleaver types and lengths is an important part in the design of a turbo code.

Multiscale Microscopy via Automation: Dual Magnification Environmental Scanning Electron Microscopy Imaging by Frame Alternation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
An automation interface for environmental scanning electron microscopy (ESEM) enables simultaneous, interlaced data sets via frame‐by‐frame parameter changes. Demonstrated on oscillatory hydrogen oxidation over cobalt (Co) foil, dual‐magnification imaging bridges mesoscopic to microscopic length scales, capturing alternating views of surface dynamics ...

Investigating the Performance of Turbo Code in WCDMA Downlink over Frequency Selective Rayleigh Fading Channel

open access: yesJournal of Engineering and Sustainable Development, 2006
In this research parallel concatenated convolutional coding with iterative decoding is examined for data transmission over the downlink of a WCDMA system employing BPSK modulation and coherent Rake receiver.

A Multi-Objective Genetic Algorithm Approach for Silicon Photonics Design

open access: yesPhotonics
A multi-objective genetic algorithm approach is formulated to optimize the design of silicon-photonics complex circuits with contradicting performance metrics and no closed-form expression for the circuit performance.

Interleaver design methods for turbo codes [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
- It is generally assumed that when a turbo decoder is operating at low bit error rates, error sequences have small Hamming weights. From this, and properties of turbo encoders, a mathematical structure is developed for interleaver design, permitting the
