The thesis, together with its practice-research works, presents an object-oriented perspective on the JPEG standard. Using the object-oriented philosophy of Graham Harman as a theoretical and also practical starting point, the thesis looks to provide an account of the JPEG digital object and its enfolding within the governmental scopic regime.

ANALYSIS OF THE POSSIBILITY OF USING THE SINGULAR VALUE DECOMPOSITION IN IMAGE COMPRESSION [PDF]
In today’s highly computerized world, data compression is a key issue to minimize the costs associated with data storage and transfer. In 2019, more than 70% of the data sent over the network were images.

The joint photographic expert group algorithm compresses a digital image by filtering its high spatial-frequency components. Similarly, we introduce a quantum algorithm that uses the quantum Fourier transform to discard the high spatial-frequency qubits of an image, downsampling it to a lower resolution.

An Efficient DCT-SVD Steganographic Approach Applied to JPEG Images [PDF]
To prove the origin of images in social media, this work proposes an efficient JPEG image steganography approach. After structuring the cover image into blocks of 8*8 pixels, Discrete Cosine Transform is applied to each block of pixels ...

The digital watermarking algorithm using discrete chaotic maps
The algorithm of formation, embedding and extracting of digital watermarks using discrete chaotic maps is considered. The key feature of the developed algorithm is the formation of the watermark using the discrete chaotic map and the restoration of this ...
