Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

FRI0093 IMPACT OF INTERLEUKIN 6 RECEPTOR INHIBITOR ON N-TERMINAL PRO-BRAIN NATRIURETIC PEPTIDE IN PATIENTS WITH RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS [PDF]

open access: yesAnnals of the Rheumatic Diseases, 2019
Background: Objectives: To investigate the impact of interleukin 6 receptor inhibitor - tocilizumab (TCZ) on NT-proBNP level changes in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) during a 12- month (m) follow-up period. Methods: The investigation enrolled 31 patients (pts) (26women/5men) with the lack of efficacy/resistance and/or intolerance of basic

Development of human monoclonal antibodies against TARM1 by yeast display

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Human monoclonal antibodies against TARM1 are generated by yeast display‐guided selection. These antibodies bind to soluble and cell‐surface forms of TARM1. Also, these antibodies exhibit agonistic activity in the NFAT‐GFP reporter assay, indicating that TARM1 signaling can be functionally modulated by antibodies and suggesting TARM1 as a potential ...

Blood‐based proteomic profiling reveals context‐dependent changes in BCL2‐associated signaling during taxane therapy in breast cancer patients

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Chemotherapy side effects significantly impact cancer survivors' quality of life. Using protein levels in blood samples from breast cancer patients before and after 12 weeks of taxane treatment, we detected treatment‐dependent changes in calcium signaling and aging pathways associated with cancer recurrence.

Cerebral ischemia induces microvascular pro-inflammatory cytokine expression via the MEK/ERK pathway

open access: yesJournal of Neuroinflammation, 2010
Background Cerebral ischemia from middle cerebral artery wall (MCA) occlusion results in increased expression of cerebrovascular endothelin and angiotensin receptors and activation of the mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) pathway, as well as ...

Characterization of lymphoid tissue inducer cells and lymphoid tissue development in adult interleukin 7 transgenic mice [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
During embryogenesis, the development of secondary lymphoid organs (SLOs) such as lymph nodes (LNs) and Peyer’s patches (PPs) requires the cellular crosstalk between vascular cell adhesion molecule (VCAM)-1+ mesenchymal organizer cells and CD45+CD4 ...
