Endohedral Ten‐Vertex Clusters [Ga@Tl10]8− in the Mixed Trielides A8GaTl10 (A=K, Rb, Cs)
Abstract The mixed Ga/Tl trielides A8GaTl10 (A=K, Rb, Cs), which were yielded from stoichiometric melts of the elements, crystallize in the tetragonal K8ZnIn10‐type structure (SG P4/nnc, a=1018.58(3)/1047.14(6)/1077.74(10), c=1363.71(5)/1400.07(8)/1435.4(2) pm, Z=2, R1=0.0187/0.0209/0.0218 for A=K/Rb/Cs).

Phase Field Simulation of Al-Fe-Mn-Si Quaternary Eutectic Solidification
This study investigates the eutectic equilibrium phases in a multicomponent system through 3-D multi-phase-field simulations. Emphasizing the directional solidification process, the work examines the growth dynamics of intermetallic phase Al13Fe4, a ...

Abstract Large black single crystals with a metallic luster of Li16Sr6Ge6N and several other representatives of the series Li16Ae6Tt6N and Li16Ae6Tt6.5 (Ae=Ca, Sr; Tt=Si, Ge, Sn, Pb) were grown from mixtures of the respective elements with addition of binary alkaline‐earth metal nitrides or lithium nitride in the case of the nitrides. For the synthesis

Peculiarities of niobium-based superconducting alloys in the light of crystal chemistry: A brief survey [PDF]
In this survey, we focus on Nb-based binary intermetallic compounds, which have been widely used over the last 40 years to develop a range of superconducting applications, including non-standard engineering solutions in the design of large magnets.

Endohedral Coordination of Bulky Substrates in Metalloenzyme‐Like Organometallic Nanotubes
An organometallic nanotube with eight CuI ions mimics metalloenzyme behavior, featuring a flexible pore, metal‐ligand substrate binding, and redox‐active metals. Insertion of THF as a model substrate is driven by coordination, as confirmed by SC‐XRD, NMR, and DFT.

Supported catalytically active liquid metal solutions (SCALMS) based on liquid gallium‐nickel (Ga−Ni) alloys have demonstrated high catalytic activity and stability in the selective oligomerization of ethylene. In this study of novel Ga−Ni SCALMS, catalytic, spectroscopic, microscopic, and computational methods provide a unique and first insight into ...

A Sequential Catalytic Carbonation–Hydrolysis–Dehydrogenation Reaction of Epoxides
The design of cascade reactions for synthetic programs is of interest, particularly if the individual steps involve catalyzed reactions, and simple and highly available molecules such as carbon dioxide (CO2), water (H2O) and dihydrogen (H2) are employed. Here we show a three–step sequential reaction from epoxides to dehydrogenated diols, catalyzed by a
