Data‐Driven Modeling of Composition–Processing–Microstructure Relations for Recycled Aluminum Cast Alloys

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Interpretable machine learning reveals how composition and processing govern the formation and microstructural burden of Fe‐rich intermetallic compounds in recycled Al–Si–Fe–Mn alloys. By separating morphology selection from morphology‐conditioned burden partitioning, this framework shows that identical Fe contents can yield different intermetallic ...

Manganese hyperfine interaction in intermetallic Mn compounds

open access: yes, 2008
Local manganese moments at different lattice sites in intermetallic Mn compounds can be derived by analysis of the 55Mn nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectra. This was used for GdxY1−xMn6Ge6 pseudoternary compounds and Mn5Si3C1.5 films.

Electric‐Current‐Induced Phase Transformation in Cu6Sn5 Below Its Equilibrium Transition Temperature

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Electric current induces a monoclinic‐to‐hexagonal phase transformation in Cu6Sn5 at a measured bulk temperature of ∼120°C, below the equilibrium transition temperature. Ex situ synchrotron x‐ray diffraction, TEM, and matched thermal controls show that current stressing promotes the formation of a retained hexagonal η‐phase post‐stress state not ...

The formation volume in rare earth intermetallic systems: A representation by means of atomic physical quantities

open access: yes, 2017
The formation of the intermetallic phases is often accompanied by large volume effects, and several interpretations of this phenomenon have been proposed following different approaches, either from a simply empirical or purely theoretical point of view ...

Oxidation Behavior of Advanced Intermetallic Compounds

open access: yes, 1990
The oxidation behavior of a number of ordered high melting point intermetallic materials has been studied in flowing air in the temperature range 1000 to 1500°C. The alloys were selected for acceptable toughness and ductility at temperatures above 1000°C.

Coupled Vacancy and Phonon‐Scattering Engineering Drive Defect Evolution Toward Multifunctional High‐Performance Bi2Te3 Thermoelectrics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ZnSb reduces carrier concentration and suppresses Te volatilization, while Se substitution within QLs softens phonons and enhances anharmonicity. Swapped bilayers near twin boundaries strengthen phonon scattering and interlayer bonding. As a result, the optimal sample achieves an ultra‐high zT ∼1.51, cooling temperature difference of ∼70 K, power ...

Spike‐Embedded Nanocatalysts via Metal‐Directed Carbonization for Highly Efficient and Robust Semi‐Hydrogenation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A metal‐directed carbonization strategy transforms hierarchical organic microspheres into spiky carbon catalysts with Pd nanoparticles embedded at the tips. This approach resolves the activity‐stability trade‐off, achieving exceptional poison resistance in semi‐hydrogenations, offering a versatile, scalable platform for designing high‐performance ...
