Spectral Analysis of Lattice Schrödinger-Type Operators Associated with the Nonstationary Anderson Model and Intermittency

open access: yesMathematics
We investigate the nonstationary parabolic Anderson problem ∂u∂t=ϰLu(t,x)+ξt(x)u(t,x),u(0,x)≡1,(t,x)∈[0,∞)×Zd where ϰL denotes a nonlocal Laplacian and ξt(x) is a correlated white-noise potential.

Intermittency in Branching Processes

open access: yes, 1993
We study the intermittency properties of two branching processes, one with a uniform and another with a singular splitting kernel. The asymptotic intermittency indices, as well as the leading corrections to the asymptotic linear regime are explicitly ...

The Tale of the Residual Tail: Insights From Continuous Intracranial Monitoring From Post‐Hippocampectomy Dynamics

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Subtotal hippocampal resection can leave residual hippocampal tissue, yet the immediate postoperative electrophysiologic evolution of such remnants is unknown. We describe a patient with drug‐resistant temporal lobe epilepsy in whom a hippocampal remnant was continuously monitored using a responsive neurostimulator (RNS) following subtotal ...

Prediction of the near wall flow behaviours of separation and transition for NREL phase VI wind turbine blade

open access: yesInternational Journal of Sustainable Energy, 2023
This study demonstrates the separation and transition flow behaviour around a 3-D wind turbine blade by analysing blending functions, intermittency, and transition onset Reynolds number in SST Gamma Theta model.

Intermittent Alexia

open access: yesCortex, 1990
A case of intermittent alexia, sometimes accompanied by severe dysgraphia and sometimes by mild dysgraphia, which had a probable migrainous origin, is described. On some occasions the patient could write to dictation, although with many errors, while unable to read words or letters.

Intermittent chylomicronemia caused by intermittent GPIHBP1 autoantibodies

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Lipidology, 2020
Chylomicronemia caused by a deficiency in lipoprotein lipase (LPL) or GPIHBP1 (the endothelial cell protein that transports LPL to the capillary lumen) is typically diagnosed during childhood and represents a serious, lifelong medical problem. Affected patients have high plasma triglyceride levels (>1500 mg/dL) and a high risk of acute pancreatitis ...

Clinical Practice Guideline for Evaluation and Management of Peripheral Nervous System Manifestations in Sjögren's Disease

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Sjögren's disease is an autoimmune disorder that can impact multiple organ systems, including the peripheral nervous system (PNS). PNS manifestations, which can exist concurrently, include mononeuropathies, polyneuropathies, and autonomic nervous system neuropathies.

Motion shapes for sound shaping

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology
The focus of this perspective paper is on relationships between sound-producing body motion and corresponding perceived sound features, guided by the idea of shapes as the common denominator of these two domains.

Generation of Lagrangian intermittency in turbulence by a self-similar mechanism

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2013
Intermittency, i.e., extreme fluctuations at small scales, causes the deviation of turbulence statistics from Kolmogorov's 1941 theoretical predictions. Intermittency effects are especially strong for Lagrangian statistics.

Mucocutaneous disease activity and damage accrual in systemic lupus erythematosus: analyses from the Asia‐Pacific Lupus Collaboration longitudinal cohort study

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objective This research article aims to describe the prevalence, associations and health‐related quality‐of‐life (HRQoL) impact of mucocutaneous features of SLE. Methods Data from the Asia‐Pacific Lupus Collaboration cohort were analysed (2013‐2021). Mucocutaneous activity (MC‐A) items were rash, alopecia and mucosal ulcers; defined by the SLEDAI‐2K ...
