Experimental and Numerical study of a hydrogen fuelled I.C. engine fitted with the hydrogen assisted jet ignition system [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The use of hydrogen as an engine fuel poses several challenges as well as opportunities in engine design and control. These challenges are mainly due to hydrogen's high flame temperatures at near stoichiometric mixtures, as well as the reactant volume ...

Biomimetic Multiscale‐Structured Biomass Graphene/Polyurethane Sponge Composite for Flexible Pressure Sensors and Intelligent Cushioning Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this study, a multifunctional conductive sponge composite (MAPU) is developed using a biomimetic, hierarchical construction strategy emulating the growth process of natural wood. This approach involved integrating biomass‐derived graphitic nanoflakes, synthesized from luffa vine (LVGN), into a polyurethane (PU) sponge matrix.

Tailoring Sieving Pores and Electrochemical Interface Intercalation for Mechanically Resilient Recycled Micro‐Silicon Anodes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Here, an innovative strategy is proposed, using micron‐sized Si recovered from photovoltaic waste as raw material, combined with electrochemical lithium alloying, reacting with CO2 to obtain sieve‐like porous structure design to overcome mechanical dynamic limitations.

Combustion Test for the Smallest Reciprocating Piston Internal Combustion Engine with HCCI on the Millimeter Scale

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Micro reciprocating piston internal combustion engines are potentially desirable for high-energy density micro power sources. However, complex subsystem functions hinder the downsizing of reciprocating piston internal combustion engines.

Leveraging Reaction Heterogeneity in Bimodal Cathodes to Enhance Longevity of SiO/Graphite | NCM Full cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A bimodal cathode composed of single‐ and polycrystalline NCM particles induces end‐of‐discharge overpotential rise via reaction heterogeneity, effectively regulating the depth of discharge of SiO in SiO/graphite anodes. This design suppresses mechanical degradation of SiO and enables long‐term cycling stability without compromising the energy density ...
