Numerical simulation of flow field coupling with electric field for leakage current particulate matter sensor [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences
With the diesel particulate filter more and more widely applied on engine, the particulate matter (PM) sensor is used to detect malfunctions of diesel particulate filter (DPF) in on board diagnostics (OBD).

Investigation of the influence of engine settings on the heat flux in a hydrogen- and methane-fueled spark ignition engine [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Hydrogen-fueled internal combustion engines are a possible solution to make transportation more ecological. Only emissions of oxides of nitrogen (NOx) occur at high loads, being a constraint for power and efficiency optimization. A thermodynamic model of

A Wireless Wearable Sensor System Based on a Silver Nanowire‐Decorated Silicon Nanomembrane for Precise and Continuous Hazardous Gas Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Silver nanowire‐decorated silicon nanomembrane (AgNW‐SiNM) wireless wearable gas sensor exhibits a high response of ≈1.83 upon exposure to 10 ppm NH3. A stacked structure of the AgNW‐SiNM gas sensor with a flexible Joule heater improves the recovery rate after gas exposure.

Can soil biology tests improve phosphorus and potassium corn fertilizer recommendations?

open access: yesAgronomy Journal, Volume 114, Issue 6, Page 3457-3472, November/December 2022., 2022
Abstract Integrating soil health (SH) biological properties with soil fertility (SF) evaluations offers a unique opportunity to potentially refine fertilizer recommendations. The objectives of this research included: (a) evaluating current University of Missouri P and K fertilizer recommendations for corn (Zea mays L.) and (b) assess whether SH ...

Response to gaseous NO2 air pollutant of P. fluorescens airborne strain MFAF76a and clinical strain MFN1032

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2016
Human exposure to nitrogen dioxide (NO2), an air pollutant of increasing interest in biology, results in several toxic effects to human health and also to the air microbiota. The aim of this study was to investigate the bacterial response to gaseous NO2.

Advances in Radiative Heat Transfer: Bridging Far‐Field Fundamentals and Emerging Near‐Field Innovations

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review synthesizes the evolution of radiative heat transfer, emphasizing the transition from far‐field to near‐field regimes. Traditional frameworks, such as Planck's law, are revisited alongside modern innovations like fluctuational electrodynamics. Applications span nanoscale thermal management, energy harvesting, and thermophotovoltaic systems.

Performance of limestone‐based sorbent for sorption‐enhanced gasification in dual interconnected fluidized bed reactors

open access: yesAIChE Journal, Volume 69, Issue 1, January 2023., 2023
Abstract A possibility to carry out sorption‐enhanced gasification (SEG) is represented by its integration with the calcium looping concept in dual interconnected fluidized beds (DIFB). This article is focused on the sorbent CO2 uptake performance and attrition/fragmentation tendency when operating conditions simulating those of a DIFB‐SEG process are ...

Improving the Capacity Retention of Poly(vinylphenothiazine) as Battery Electrode Material by Pore Size Engineering of Porous N‐Doped Carbon Nanospheres as Conductive Additive

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
By using (meso)porous N‐doped carbon nanospheres with tailored intraparticle porosity and constant particle size as conductive carbon in PVMPT‐based organic battery electrodes, the complete volume of the carbon is accessible for the immobilization of PVMPT, resulting in high accessible specific capacities while maintaining a good rate capability and ...

Electrified methane steam reforming on a washcoated SiSiC foam for low‐carbon hydrogen production

open access: yesAIChE Journal, Volume 69, Issue 1, January 2023., 2023
Abstract In view of largely available renewable electricity as a green future resource, here we report the electrification of a Rh/Al2O3 washcoated SiSiC foam for methane steam reforming (MSR). We show that, thanks to the suitable bulk resistivity of the SiSiC foam, its direct Joule heating up to relevant temperatures is feasible; the interconnected ...
