Highly‐Entangled Hydrogel Electrolyte for Fast Charging/Discharging Properties in Aqueous Zinc Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A highly‐entangled polyacrylamide (HE‐PAM) hydrogel is designed as an aqueous electrolyte for the fast charging/discharging properties in Zn/MnO2 batteries. Such hydrogel electrolyte possessed excellent mechanical characters, stable cycling capability, and superb rate performance under high current densities. These characters can also be applied in the

Advances in Radiative Heat Transfer: Bridging Far‐Field Fundamentals and Emerging Near‐Field Innovations

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review synthesizes the evolution of radiative heat transfer, emphasizing the transition from far‐field to near‐field regimes. Traditional frameworks, such as Planck's law, are revisited alongside modern innovations like fluctuational electrodynamics. Applications span nanoscale thermal management, energy harvesting, and thermophotovoltaic systems.

Improving the Capacity Retention of Poly(vinylphenothiazine) as Battery Electrode Material by Pore Size Engineering of Porous N‐Doped Carbon Nanospheres as Conductive Additive

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
By using (meso)porous N‐doped carbon nanospheres with tailored intraparticle porosity and constant particle size as conductive carbon in PVMPT‐based organic battery electrodes, the complete volume of the carbon is accessible for the immobilization of PVMPT, resulting in high accessible specific capacities while maintaining a good rate capability and ...

Estimation of a Noise Level Using Coarse-Grained Entropy of Experimental Time Series of Internal Pressure in a Combustion Engine [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
We report our results on non-periodic experimental time series of pressure in a single cylinder spark ignition engine. The experiments were performed for different levels of loading. We estimate the noise level in internal pressure calculating the coarse-grained entropy from variations of maximal pressures in successive cycles.
