Internal consistency for embedding complexity [PDF]
AbstractIn a previous paper with M. Džamonja, class forcings were given which fixed the complexity (a universality covering number) for certain types of structures of size λ together with the value of 2λ for every regular λ. As part of a programme for examining when such global results can be true in an inner model, we build generics for these class ...

Internal Consistency and the Inner Model Hypothesis [PDF]
There are two standard ways to establish consistency in set theory. One is to prove consistency using inner models, in the way that Gödel proved the consistency of GCH using the inner model L. The other is to prove consistency using outer models, in the way that Cohen proved the consistency of the negation of CH by enlarging L to a forcing extension L ...

Background: For assessing social networks in the elderly and the social support they receive and to predict social isolation, a proper valid and reliable short-scale screening tool is necessary. The present study aims to estimate the internal consistency

The internal consistency of perfect competition [PDF]
This article surveys some arguments brought forward in defense of the theory of perfect competition. While some critics propose that the theory of perfect competition, and thus also the theory of the firm, are logically flawed, (mainstream) economists defend their most popular textbook model by a series of apparently different arguments.

CHOICE, INTERNAL CONSISTENCY AND RATIONALITY [PDF]
The classical theory of rational choice is built on several important internal consistency conditions. In recent years, the reasonableness of those internal consistency conditions has been questioned and criticized, and several responses to accommodate such criticisms have been proposed in the literature.

Coefficient alpha: Unnecessarily ambiguous; unduly ubiquitous
By means of simple numerical examples it is demonstrated how the value of coefficient alpha is determined by the size and sign of the item intercorrelations, the dimensionality of the items, and the number of items. Relatively high alphas may be obtained

Nonabelian lattice theories: Consistent measures and strata [PDF]
The role of consistent measures in the rigorous construction of nonabelian lattice theories is analized. General conditions that measures must fulfill to insure consistency, positivity and a mass gap are obtained. The impact of nongeneric strata on the nature of the Hamiltonian lattice potential is also discussed.

Are Individual Survey Expectations Internally Consistent? [PDF]
This paper studies professional forecasts on a micro level using three alternative data sets. The analysis is mainly based on the ECB Survey of Professional Forecasts for the euro area, but for comparison, Consensus Economics survey and the Survey of Professional Forecasts for the US are also investigated.
