Internal consistency for embedding complexity [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Symbolic Logic, 2008
AbstractIn a previous paper with M. Džamonja, class forcings were given which fixed the complexity (a universality covering number) for certain types of structures of size λ together with the value of 2λ for every regular λ. As part of a programme for examining when such global results can be true in an inner model, we build generics for these class ...

A Promising Candidate to Reliably Index Attentional Bias Toward Alcohol Cues–An Adapted Odd-One-Out Visual Search Task

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2021
Attentional bias (AB) has been suggested to contribute to the persistence of substance use behavior. However, the empirical evidence for its proposed role in addiction is inconsistent.

The internal consistency of Easton’s theorem

open access: yesAnnals of Pure and Applied Logic, 2008
AbstractAn Easton function is a monotone function C from infinite regular cardinals to cardinals such that C(α) has cofinality greater than α for each infinite regular cardinal α. Easton showed that assuming GCH, if C is a definable Easton function then in some cofinality-preserving extension, C(α)=2α for all infinite regular cardinals α.

Coefficient alpha: Unnecessarily ambiguous; unduly ubiquitous

open access: yesSA Journal of Industrial Psychology, 2006
By means of simple numerical examples it is demonstrated how the value of coefficient alpha is determined by the size and sign of the item intercorrelations, the dimensionality of the items, and the number of items. Relatively high alphas may be obtained

CHOICE, INTERNAL CONSISTENCY AND RATIONALITY [PDF]

open access: yesEconomics and Philosophy, 2011
The classical theory of rational choice is built on several important internal consistency conditions. In recent years, the reasonableness of those internal consistency conditions has been questioned and criticized, and several responses to accommodate such criticisms have been proposed in the literature.

Interpreting internal consistency of DES measurements [PDF]

open access: yesMonthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, 2021
ABSTRACT Bayesian evidence ratios are widely used to quantify the statistical consistency between different experiments. However, since the evidence ratio is prior dependent, the precise translation between its value and the degree of concordance/discordance requires additional information.

Adaptation of R. Schwarzer’s Proactive Attitudes Scale: Validation and Psychometric Testing on a Sample of Russian Youth

open access: yesRUDN Journal of Psychology and Pedagogics, 2022
The relevance of studying proactive coping and proactive attitudes in early adulthood is determined by the fact that planning the future and predicting difficult situations are important skills for an adult. In theoretical terms, our study is based on R.

Internal consistency reliability is a poor predictor of responsiveness

open access: yesHealth and Quality of Life Outcomes, 2005
Background Whether responsiveness represents a measurement property of health-related quality of life (HRQL) instruments that is distinct from reliability and validity is an issue of debate. We addressed the claims of a recent study, which suggested that
