Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Biophysical approaches for studying viral entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Viruses infect all living organisms and have been responsible for major epidemics and pandemics. Their ongoing evolutionary battle with host defenses creates a constant need for improved tools to study viral behavior. Advancing methods to probe viral attachment, fusion, and genome release deepen our understanding of how infections begin and support the

Internal control risk assessment using interval valued spherical fuzzy CRITIC EDAS

open access: yesScientific Reports
Internal control is a set of procedures, policies, and processes established within an organization with the aim of reasonably ensuring the accomplishment of the organization’s objectives.

Salmonella lipopolysaccharide‐containing supported lipid bilayers as platforms to study bacteriophage interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

THE INTERNAL IDEAL LATTICE IN THE TOPOS OF M-SETS [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Sciences, Islamic Republic of Iran, 1994
We believe that the study of the notions of universal algebra modelled in an arbitarry topos rather than in the category of sets provides a deeper understanding of the real features of the algebraic notions.

Exploring the Transferability of Image‐Based Algorithms for River Plastic Detection: The Value of Small Mixed Data Sets

open access: yesWater Resources Research
Using large image data sets has been the conventional strategy to improve object detection, but it increases annotation effort and training cost and does not guarantee robust transfer to new sites.

Internal Audit Effectiveness and Audit Committee Characteristics: Empirical Evidence from Pakistan

open access: yesiRASD Journal of Management, 2021
Internal audit function (IAF) is a critical component of corporate governance mechanisms, and researchers have argued that internal audit effectiveness (IAE) is of utmost importance to serve the purpose.

Microbiome−host proteostasis crosstalk—An emerging perspective on mechanisms and interventions toward healthy longevity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Proteostasis and the gut microbiota play a key role in shaping host physiology. Microbiota‐derived metabolites, vitamins, and RNA modulate host proteostasis. Findings from model systems, including C. elegans, indicate microbes can either stabilize or disrupt host proteostasis.

The internal dynamic modes of an antiskyrmion in ultrathin ferromagnetic nanodisks

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2020
We report a numerical study on the internal resonant modes of an antiskyrmion structure in thin-film ferromagnetic nanodisks by using micromagnetic simulations.

Reconstructing enzyme evolution by protein engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Natural enzyme evolution can be retraced by protein engineering methods such as directed evolution, rational design, and ancestral sequence reconstruction. These approaches reveal how enzymes emerged from ligand‐binding scaffolds, developed varying substrate preferences, formed oligomeric complexes, adapted to environmental changes, and evolved novel ...
