SEIS: Insight's Seismic Experiment for Internal Structure of Mars. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
By the end of 2018, 42 years after the landing of the two Viking seismometers on Mars, InSight will deploy onto Mars' surface the SEIS (Seismic Experiment for Internal Structure) instrument; a six-axes seismometer equipped with both a long-period three ...

Lorentz Symmetry and the Internal Structure of the Nucleon

open access: yes, 1997
To investigate the internal structure of the nucleon, it is useful to introduce quantities that do not transform properly under Lorentz symmetry, such as the four-momentum of the quarks in the nucleon, the amount of the nucleon spin contributed by quark ...

Internal structure of the chromatin subunit [PDF]

open access: yesNucleic Acids Research, 1974
The digestion of chromatin insitu with DNase I reveals, after denaturation, a regular series of single stranded DNA fragments the lengths of which represent multiples of 10 bases. These experiments are compatible with the DNA being on the outside of the chromatin subunit and suggest that the subunit structure itself contains repetitive structural ...

Chameleon sequences reveal structural effects in proteins representing micelle‐like distribution of hydrophobicity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Amino acids sequence of two different proteins with the same sequence (chameleon sequence—black boxes) represent in 3D structure of the proteins different secondary structures: HHHH—helical and BBB—Beta‐structural. The chains folded in water environment adopt different III‐order structures in which the chameleon fragments appear to adopt similar status

Non-Abelian black holes: The inside story [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
Recent progress in understanding of the internal structure of non-Abelian black holes is discussed. Talk given at the international Workshop on The Internal Structure of Black Holes and Spacetime Singularities, Haifa, Israel, June 29 -- July 3, 1997 ...

Resolving the internal magnetic structure of the solar network

open access: yes, 2012
We analyze the spectral asymmetry of Stokes V (circularly polarized) profiles of an individual network patch in the quiet Sun observed by Sunrise/IMaX. At a spatial resolution of 0.15"-0.18", the network elements contain substructure which is revealed by

Exon 7 splicing of ERα predicts poor prognosis and increases phenotypic heterogeneity in luminal a subtype breast cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.

Formation of the internal structure of solids under severe action

open access: yes, 2009
On the example of a particular problem, the theory of vacancies, a new form of kinetic equations symmetrically incorporation the internal and free energies has been derived.

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Practical Actions Shaped by the Internal Structures of Occupational Therapists’ Professional Identities

open access: yesOpen Journal of Occupational Therapy, 2019
Background: This study aims to consider the internal structures of the professional identities that occupational therapists construct in clinical settings and to explore the differences of practices resulting from these structures.
