Internal structure of exotic hadrons by high-energy exclusive reactions

open access: yes, 2014
We propose to use high-energy exclusive reactions for probing internal structure of exotic hadron candidates. First, the constituent counting rule of perturbative QCD can be used for finding internal configurations of an exotic hadron candidate.

KLK7 overexpression promotes an aggressive phenotype and facilitates peritoneal dissemination in colorectal cancer cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
KLK7, a tissue kallikrein‐related peptidase, is elevated in advanced colorectal cancer and associated with shorter survival. High KLK7 levels in ascites correlate with peritoneal metastasis. In mice, KLK7 overexpression increases metastasis. In vitro, KLK7 enhances cancer cell proliferation, migration, adhesion, and spheroid formation, driving ...

Using self-organizing map and rating scale model in examining internal structure of scales

open access: yesInternational Journal of Assessment Tools in Education
This study compares the psychometric properties of scales developed using Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA), Self-Organizing Map (SOM), and Andrich's Rating Scale Model (RSM).

Domain associated with zinc fingers‐containing NF90‐NF45 complex inhibits m6A modification of primary microRNA by suppressing METTL3/14 activity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
NF90–NF45 functions as a negative regulator of methyltransferase‐like 3/14 (METTL3/14)‐mediated N6‐methyladenosine (m6A) modification on primary microRNAs (pri‐miRNAs). NF90–NF45 binds to anti‐oncogenic pri‐miRNAs and inhibits their m6A modification, thereby suppressing the biogenesis of anti‐oncogenic miRNAs.

Effect of toolpath in large-format additive manufacturing with bio-derived composites

open access: yesVirtual and Physical Prototyping
There has been growing interest in integrating bio-derived composites into Large-format additive manufacturing (LFAM) feedstocks to reduce the use of petroleum-derived materials and reduce the overall carbon footprint of LFAM.

Internal Structure of Addition Chains: Well-Ordering [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
An addition chain for $n$ is defined to be a sequence $(a_0,a_1,\ldots,a_r)$ such that $a_0=1$, $a_r=n$, and, for any $1\le k\le r$, there exist $0\le i ...

Gravitational string-membrane hedgehog and internal structure of black holes

open access: yes, 2011
We investigate charged Nambu-Goto strings/membrane systems in the Einstein-Maxwell theory in 3+1 dimensions. We first construct a charged string hedgehog solution that has a single horizon and conical singularity.

Sustainable bioplastics manufacturing from renewable sources

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Bioplastics are manufactured by using polymers from different bio‐based sources. These novel materials not only offer biodegradability but also possess various functional properties that make them suitable for diverse applications. Recent developments in the preparation of bioplastics are reported, highlighting the distinct properties of each type of ...

Pioglitazone plus (−)‐epigallocatechin gallate: a novel approach to enhance osteogenic performance in aged bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Aged human bmMSCs are seeded in the scaffold. Osteoblastic induction can slightly increase cell's bone‐forming activity to produce bone‐like tissues, shown as the sporadic xylenol orange‐stained spots (the lower left image). Notably, pioglitazone plus EGCG co‐treatment dramatically increases cell's bone‐forming activity and bone‐like tissue production (
