On the notion of pseudocategory internal to a category with a 2-cell structure [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2009
The notion of pseudocategory, as considered in [11], is extended from the context of a 2-category to the more general one of a sesquicategory, which is considered as a category equipped with a 2-cell structure. Some particular examples of 2-cells arising form internal transformations in internal categories, conjugations in groups, derivations in ...

Pharmacological effects of osimertinib on a chicken chorioallantoic membrane xenograft model with the EGFR exon‐19‐deleted advanced NSCLC mutation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Osimertinib reduces angiogenesis and PDL1 expression in in ovo tumors, transforming them into ‘cold tumors’ with lower immune activity. Anatomopathological and transcriptomic analyses highlight its therapeutic impact on tumor biology. This study underscores osimertinib's potential to reshape the tumor microenvironment and provides insights into its ...

Internal structure of the Moon inferred from Apollo seismic data and selenodetic data from GRAIL and LLR

open access: yes, 2015
The internal structure of the Moon is important for discussions on its origin and evolution. However, the deep structure of the Moon is still debated due to the absence of comprehensive seismic data.

Acacetin reduces endoplasmic reticulum stress through the P‐eNOS/PERK signaling pathway to attenuate MGO‐induced vascular endothelial cell dysfunction

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We investigated a potential protective effect of acacetin, a naturally occurring flavonoid, against methylglyoxal (MGO)‐induced endothelial dysfunction in human umbilical vein endothelial cells and its mechanism of action. Acacetin can could inhibit MGO‐induced intracellular calcium ion influx, enhance the expression levels of phosphorylated ...

Practical challenges in data‐driven interpolation: Dealing with noise, enforcing stability, and computing realizations

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView., 2023
Summary In this contribution, we propose a detailed study of interpolation‐based data‐driven methods that are of relevance in the model reduction and also in the systems and control communities. The data are given by samples of the transfer function of the underlying (unknown) model, that is, we analyze frequency‐response data.

Internal and external duality in abstract polytopes [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2016
We define an abstract regular polytope to be internally self-dual if its self-duality can be realized as one of its symmetries. This property has many interesting implications on the structure of the polytope, which we present here. Then, we construct many examples of internally self-dual polytopes. In particular, we show that there are internally self-

Alkane biosynthesis gene expression and its increased production in recombinant cyanobacteria

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The transcription and mRNA structures of the alkane biosynthesis genes ado/aar were analysed in the representative cyanobacteria PCC 6803 and SK1‐2‐1, which produce C17H36 and C15H32, respectively. PCC 6803 transconjugants carrying these genes showed a 1.8‐ to 2.3‐fold increase in C17H36 production.

Design, analysis, and testing of PP-IGBT-based submodule stack for the MMC VSC HVDC with 3000 A DC bus current

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2018
Voltage sourced converter (VSC) high-voltage direct current (HVDC) is moving to higher DC voltage and capacity, such as ±500 kV/3000 MW and ±800 kV/5000 MW for a single converter, which will bring tremendous challenges for converter submodule design ...

Interning Ground Terms in XSB [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2013
This paper presents an implementation of interning of ground terms in the XSB Tabled Prolog system. This is related to the idea of hash-consing. I describe the concept of interning atoms and discuss the issues around interning ground structured terms, motivating why tabling Prolog systems may change the cost-benefit tradeoffs from those of traditional ...
