Diurnal internal tides detected in the Adriatic [PDF]
Strong diurnal oscillations, documented by temperature data that were collected along a submarine cliff on the Lastovo Island (southern Adriatic), are studied and compared with sea level and wind measurements at Dubrovnik and Komiža (island of ...

Variation of Semidiurnal Internal Tides along the Southeastern Coast of Korea Induced by Typhoons
Typhoon-induced strong winds can dramatically change the oceanic environment, occasionally resulting in sudden stratification changes. In July 2015, two consecutive typhoons, Chanhom and Nangka, passed over the Yellow and East/Japan Seas within a week ...

Internal tides in the strait of Denmark
Six day temperature records carried out at the three mooring levels revealed isotherm fluctuations in the Denmark Strait sill in July 2018 caused by internal waves. In addition to the field measurements, fluctuations of isopycnals were estimated on the basis of a numerical model. It was shown that the vertical displacements of water particles caused by

A hybrid Reinforcement Learning–Explainable AI framework integrates SHAP and LIME explanations directly into a Deep Q‐Network inference loop for real‐time ICU decision support. Trained on 18 142 mechanically ventilated stays from the eICU database, the system attains 93.0% decision accuracy, 20% fewer errors than RL alone, and a 91% clinician trust ...

Internal tide oceanic tomography
A concept of internal tide oceanic tomography (ITOT) is proposed to monitor ocean warming on a global scale. ITOT is similar to acoustic tomography, but that work waves are internal tides.

Tidal Modulation of Energy Dissipation Routes in the Gulf Stream
The Gulf Stream (GS) is a powerful ocean current that is instrumental in regulating the global climate. While a correct reproduction of GS dynamics is contingent on an appropriate representation of energy dissipation, the specific role of tides in ...

ABSTRACT In this paper, we trace the journey to create the Strong Roots for our Futures Program, a government program to resource and support Traditional Owners to undertake a range of activities in areas where no state recognition existed. We provide a background to state recognition in Victoria before considering the program design, leading to an ...

SDPR–STK38 axis controls the proliferation–differentiation balance in alveolar type II cells
The present study identifies SDPR as a pivotal regulator orchestrating the balance between proliferation and differentiation in alveolar type II (AT2) cells. In SDPR+/+ cells, SDPR binds to and inhibits STK38 activity, thereby sustaining GSK‐3β signaling functionality to promote cyclin D1 degradation and maintain cell cycle homeostasis.

Abstract Background Ex vivo lung perfusion (EVLP) allows the evaluation of lungs that do not meet standard transplantation criteria. Current procedures do not permit the identification of regional functional deficits. We investigated the feasibility of assessing lobar gas exchange during EVLP in a swine model.
