Identification of Fusarium oxysporum Causing Leaf Blight on Dendrobium chrysotoxum in Yunnan Province, China

open access: yesLife
Leaf-blight disease caused by the Fusarium oxysporum is an emerging problem in Dendrobium chrysotoxum production in China. Symptoms of leaf blight were observed on seedlings of D. chrysotoxum cultivated in a nursery in Ruili City, Yunnan Province, China.

Variability of nuclear and mitochondrial ribosomal DNA of a truffle species (Tuber aestivum) [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
The intraspecific genetic variability of #Tuber aestivum$ was studied using molecular markers at various geographical scales. We used the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) coupled with restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) analysis to examine the

Phylogeny Study of Genus Pelvetia in Korea by Internal Transcribed Spacer Sequence (ITS) [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Life Science, 2009
The brown algae, or phaeophytes, are a large group of multicellular algae, including many notable types of seaweed. We analysed intra- and interspecific phylogenic studies within the genus Pelvetia in Korea and compared them with results of both same and different species in GenBank. The sequences for P.

Cryptic transcripts from a ubiquitous plasmid origin of replication confound tests for cis-regulatory function. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
A vast amount of research on the regulation of gene expression has relied on plasmid reporter assays. In this study, we show that plasmids widely used for this purpose constitutively produce substantial amounts of RNA from a TATA-containing cryptic ...

Molecular phylogeny of Pinanga (Palmae) based on internal transcribed spacers (ITS) sequence data

open access: yesChromosome Botany, 2007
Molecular phylogeny of 52 species of Pinanga (Palmae) were investigated using the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) sequence data of nuclear ribosomal DNA. Polymorphic sequence data were identified in the ITS region of Pinanga, indicating that concerted evolution is not completely homogenizing ITS repeats in the nuclear genome.

Phylogenetic Study of Genus Sorbus in Korea by Internal Transcribed Spacer Sequence (ITS)

open access: yesJournal of Life Science, 2007
Abalone (genus Haliotis) is a woody species with a long life span that is primarily distributed throughout the world, including Asia. This species is regarded as a very important marine gastropod mollusk in Korea and China, and also in food industries around the world.

Phylogenetic analysis of Cuban Pinguicula (Lentibulariaceae) based on internal transcribed spacer (ITS) region

open access: yesChromosome Botany, 2007
The internal transcribed spacer (ITS) region of 18S-26S nuclear ribosomal DNA (nrDNA) in seven species and one variety of Pinguicula (Lentibulariaceae) in Cuba has been sequenced. Although the eight taxa have been taxonomically divided into two subgenera such as Isoloba and Pinguicula with the other species grown in the other regions, and further they ...
