Analysis of internal transcribed spacer (ITS) regions in Steinernema feltiae Sicilian strains.

2023
Biodiversity of entomopathogenic nematodes (EPN) in Italy is particularly high, with a greater number of species (12 species) than in other European and Mediterranean countries (Tarasco et al., 2009). Sicily is the Italian region with the largest number of species, with 6 reported species (Tarasco et. al., 2015). In the last two decades, investigations

GC balance in the internal transcribed spacers ITS 1 and ITS 2 of nuclear ribosomal RNA genes

Journal of Molecular Evolution, 1990
The internal transcribed spacer (ITS) 1 and 2, the 5.8S rRNA gene, and adjacent 18S rRNA and 25S rRNA coding regions of two Cucurbitaceae (Cucurbita pepo, zucchini, ITS 1: 187 bp, and ITS 2: 252 bp in length, and Cucumis sativus, cucumber, ITS 1: 229 bp, and ITS 2: 245 bp in length) have been sequenced.

Internal Transcribed Spacer Region of rDNA in Common Wheat and Its Genome Origins

Acta Agronomica Sinica, 2009
Abstract The objective of this study was to disclose the origin and evolution of the A, B, and D genomes in common wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) with evidence on ribosomal DNA (rDNA) internal transcribed spacer (ITS) sequences. Specific primers were used to amplify the rDNA ITS sequences from common wheat, and 3 types of the amplification fragment ...

Nucleotide polymorphisms associated with Internal Transcribed Spacer (ITS) regions of ocular isolates of Aspergillus flavus

Journal of Microbiological Methods, 2007
To analyse the genetic similarity among ocular isolates of Aspergillus flavus by Polymerase chain reaction based Restriction Fragment Length Polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) and DNA sequencing.Seven ocular isolates of A. flavus from 5 patients (3 from paient 1, and four isolates from patients no.

Comparison of the Internal Transcribed Spacer, ITS-1, from Sarcocystis falcatula Isolates and Sarcocystis neurona

The Journal of Parasitology, 1999
The genetic diversity among 6 Sarcocystis falcatula isolates derived from geographically distinct regions in the U.S.A. was detected using the first internal transcribed spacer region 1 (ITS-1) of the rRNA gene. These sequences were then compared to the full sequence from a Sarcocystis neurona isolate obtained from a California horse diagnosed with ...

Phylogenetic analysis of the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) region in Menyanthaceae using predicted secondary structure

Molecular Phylogenetics and Evolution, 2008
Sequences of the nuclear internal transcribed spacer (ITS) regions ITS1 and ITS2 have been used widely in molecular phylogenetic studies because of their relatively high variability and facility of amplification. For phylogenetic applications, most researchers use sequence alignments that are based on nucleotide similarity.

Differentiation of two ovine Babesia based on the ribosomal DNA internal transcribed spacer (ITS) sequences

Experimental Parasitology, 2009
The first and second internal transcribed spacers (ITS1, ITS2) as well as the intervening 5.8S coding region of the rRNA gene for six Babesia spp. isolated from different geographic origins were characterized. Varying degrees of ITS1 and ITS2 intra- and inter-species sequence polymorphism were found among these isolates.
