Asymptotic models for internal waves
We derived here in a systematic way, and for a large class of scaling regimes, asymptotic models for the propagation of internal waves at the interface between two layers of immiscible fluids of different densities, under the rigid lid assumption and with a flat bottom.

Systemic sclerosis (SSc) is a rare autoimmune disease defined by immune dysregulation, vasculopathy, and progressive fibrosis of the skin and internal organs. Despite advances in care, major complications such as interstitial lung disease (ILD) and myocardial involvement remain the leading causes of morbidity and mortality.

Interaction of interfacial and internal waves
Reflection of internal waves at an interface between the mixed layer and a stratified fluid under the layer is investigated experimentally. Reflection coefficients of the internal waves and transmission coefficients of interfacial waves are obtained for the case in which the interfacial waves propagate along the interface. In order to reveal the energy

Objective To investigate the association between rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and coronary artery calcium (CAC) prevalence, incidence, and progression over four years in adults without prior cardiovascular disease. Methods A case‐cohort study within the Brazilian Longitudinal Study of Adult Health (ELSA‐Brasil) included 585 participants (86 patients with ...

The impact of seasonal changes in stratification on the dynamics of internal waves in the Sea of Okhotsk [PDF]
The properties and dynamics of internal waves in the ocean crucially depend on the vertical structure of water masses. We present detailed analysis of the impact of spatial and seasonal variations in the density-driven stratification in the Sea of ...

Anorectal Dysfunction in Systemic Sclerosis: Clinical Phenotypes and Functional Patterns
Objective The aim of this study was to characterize specific physiologic defects in anorectal dysfunction in systemic sclerosis (SSc) using anorectal manometry (ARM), evaluate associations with gastrointestinal (GI) and extraintestinal clinical phenotypes, and explore potential serologic markers for risk stratification.

The internal waves in the South China Sea are highly correlated with the tidal currents in the Luzon Strait, which makes it possible to establish an internal wave prediction model based on internal wave kinematics.

A flexure‐based variable stiffness structure is developed by integrating phase‐change modulation and adhesive interfacial locking of gallium. The design enables a wide stiffness variability, transitioning from soft, flexible behavior to rigid, load‐supporting performance.

The determinants of merger waves: An international perspective [PDF]
One of the most conspicuous features of mergers is that they come in waves that are correlated with increases in share prices and price/earnings ratios. We use a natural way to discriminate between pure stock market influences on firm decisions and other influences by examining merger patterns for both listed and unlisted firms.
