RMDD: Cross Layer Attack in Internet of Things
2018 International Conference on Advances in Computing, Communications and Informatics (ICACCI), 2018The existing research on the Internet of Things(IoT) security mainly focuses on attack and defense on a single protocol layer. Increasing and ubiquitous use of loT also makes it vulnerable to many attacks. An attacker try to performs the intelligent, brutal and stealthy attack that can reduce the risk of being detected.

Internet of Things: An end-to-end security layer
2017 20th Conference on Innovations in Clouds, Internet and Networks (ICIN), 2017A case is made in this paper for a single end-to-end Application Security Layer (ASL). The ASL caters for reliable and confidential communications within a constrained Internet of Things (IoT) environment. To provide a secure key exchange and to setup a secure data connection, the TLS protocol is used.

The Internet as a complex layered system
2016Mainstream discussions of Internet economics often rely on assumptions that were already seriously in doubt by the middle of the twentieth century. As it turns out, the rise of new economic thinking, along with new technology platforms culminating in the Internet, directly challenge many of those chief assumptions.

Facebook as a New Layer of the Internet
2014Paul Levinson lists Facebook, along with the blogosphere, Wikipedia, YouTube, MySpace, Digg and Twitter, as a new “new medium”. There is no doubt that that is true, but only part of a whole truth. From a technical point of view the Internet consists of few layers, starting from the layer of physical medium as cables and routers, ending with the ...

Wireless Physical-Layer Authentication for the Internet of Things
2017Authentication of messages in an Internet of Things (IoT) is a key security feature that may involve heavy signaling and protocol procedures, not suitable for small devices with very limited computational capabilities and energy availability. In this chapter we address the problem of message authentication in an IoT context, by using physical-layer ...

ELISA: Extensible Layer for Internet Services and Applications
2013Contemporary P2P services and applications often design and implement the entire system from the base ground or builds on low-level frameworks. This leads to significant development and maintenance efforts and often reinvention of the wheel. In this chapter we propose extensible layer that does not expose low-level implementation details to client ...

Graceful Degradation of Transport Layer in Mobile Internet
2004In mobile Internet, a handover may result in significant degradation of transmission performance. Especially in a shared medium wireless network, handover traffic which moves into a new wireless access network competes with existing traffic for available bandwidth of shared medium wireless channel. This interaction between handover traffic and existing
