An architecture for residential Internet telephony service

A new architecture that can be used for offering an Internet telephony service to residential customers is introduced. The architecture addresses scalability and availability requirements of mass-market deployment of carrier-grade services and supports interconnection with SS7 for Internet telephony calls to the public switched telephone network.
