AIP Conference Proceedings, 2008Solar coronal mass ejections are prominent example of interpenetrating particle streams with different properties: densities, speeds, temperature and composition. Such counterstreaming plasmas are quickly unstable leading to the excitation of the electrostatic and electromagnetic instabilities.
