Standardizing the Clinical Approach to Cancer Therapy‐Related Cardiac Dysfunction: Applying Cardio‐Oncology Guidelines as a Practical Tool for Hematology and Oncology Providers

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 15, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction and Methods Cancer therapy–related cardiac dysfunction (CTRCD) is a well established and potentially life‐threatening complication of contemporary oncologic treatment. Although comprehensive cardio‐oncology guidelines have been developed, their integration into routine hematology and oncology practice remains inconsistent.

Longitudinal Monitoring of GRIm and HCC‐GRIm Scores Reveals Immunologically Relevant Prognostic Indicators in Hepatocellular Carcinoma Undergoing TACE Plus ICIs and Anti‐VEGF Antibodies/TKIs

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 15, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Objective To investigate the clinical significance and peripheral immunological basis underlying the dynamic changes of Gustave Roussy Immune (GRIm) score and the hepatocellular carcinoma‐specific GRIm (HCC‐GRIm) score in unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (uHCC) patients treated with transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) combined with ...

Phenotyping of Fontan‐Associated Renal Physiology and Disease

open access: yesComprehensive Physiology, Volume 16, Issue 2, April 2026.
In patients with a Fontan circulation, both kidney function and glomerular injury progressively decline with age, with a stronger decline than in healthy individuals. Additionally, intrarenal haemodynamics in patients with a Fontan circulation demonstrate decreased venous and arterial compliance, evident through elevated venous impedance and renal ...

Acute Liver Failure in a Pediatric Patient with Tetralogy of Fallot following Cardiac Catheterization

open access: yesCase Reports in Anesthesiology, 2020
A 4-month-old female with Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) developed acute liver failure (ALF) following a cardiac catheterization procedure to correct severe stenosis of her right ventricular outflow tract (RVOT) conduit via balloon angioplasty.

The Importance of Liver‐Lung Communication in Pulmonary Vascular Diseases

open access: yesComprehensive Physiology, Volume 16, Issue 2, April 2026.
Schematic depicting the key drivers of liver‐lung communication in pulmonary vascular diseases, including hepatic dysfunction, portosystemic shunting, and gut microbial dysbiosis, which together drive pulmonary vascular remodeling. ABSTRACT In normal health, the liver and lungs enjoy a close anatomic, physiologic, and functional relationship.

Overcoming Mirror Image Anatomy Using Pulse‐Field Energy and Three‐Dimensional Mapping System: Successful Zero‐Fluoroscopy Atrial Fibrillation Ablation Procedure for Situs Inversus

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 42, Issue 2, April 2026.
Combining pulse‐field ablation with a 3D mapping system allowed a safe, zero‐fluoroscopy atrial fibrillation ablation procedure in situs inversus, overcoming catheter loss of catheter orientation due to mirror‐image anatomy.

Safety and Efficacy of Pulsed Field Ablation for Atrial Fibrillation in Older Patients: An Observational Study at a Large Tertiary Centre in Australia

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 42, Issue 2, April 2026.
In this retrospective observational study, pulsed field ablation using a specific pentaspline catheter showed comparable procedural and clinical outcomes between older (aged ≥ 75 years) and younger patients (aged < 75 years). However, judicious patient selection is still warranted and randomized trial data are needed to confirm these findings. ABSTRACT
