The Effect of an Early Cognitive Intervention on Global Cognition in Older Hospitalized Adults With Delirium

open access: yesJournal of the American Geriatrics Society, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Delirium afflicts 17% of older emergency department (ED) patients and 25% of older hospitalized patients. This form of acute brain failure is associated with accelerated cognitive decline. We conducted a randomized controlled trial to determine whether early cognitive intervention improved 4‐month global cognition in older ED ...

The Job Task Penalty for Motherhood

open access: yesJournal of Marriage and Family, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective This study examines how childbirth affects women's job tasks. Background Motherhood remains a key source of gendered inequalities in the labor market. Yet little is known about how it reshapes women's work content, even though job tasks are critical for job quality, skill development, and long‐term career trajectories.

Routine Dynamics at a Cardiac First‐Aid Unit: How Context, Emotions, and Identities Drive the Adaptation of Action Patterns

open access: yesJournal of Management Studies, EarlyView.
Abstract Emotions are a catalyst for actions. They are therefore important for developing an understanding of organizational routines as generative patterns of interdependent actions. To investigate how the performances and action patterns of routines are impacted by emotion changes brought about by alterations in the context of routine enactment, we ...

A New Signal Separation and Sampling Duration Estimation Method for ISRJ Based on FRFT and Hybrid Modality Fusion Network

open access: yesRemote Sensing
Accurate estimation of Interrupted Sampling Repeater Jamming (ISRJ) sampling duration is essential for effective radar anti-jamming. However, in complex electromagnetic environments, the simultaneous presence of suppressive and deceptive jamming, coupled

Institutional Logics and Relational Inequality in UK Surgery: Demographic Dominance and the Uneven Governance of Careers

open access: yesJournal of Management Studies, EarlyView.
Abstract Persistent gender and racial inequalities within elite professions remain inadequately explained by accounts focusing exclusively on either intra‐organizational processes or field‐level institutional dynamics. Relational inequality theory (RIT) provides a powerful account of closure within organizations but offers limited specification of how ...

Sleep Reactivity Amplifies the Impact of Pre‐Sleep Cognitive Arousal on Sleep Disturbances

open access: yesJournal of Sleep Research, EarlyView.
This study investigates how sleep reactivity moderates the ‘stress‐pre‐sleep arousal‐sleep’ pathway in university students. At the within‐individual level, both high and low sleep‐reactive groups showed increased pre‐sleep cognitive arousal and sleep disruptions in response to elevated daily stress.

Effects of soil moisture on microhabitat selection of two fossorial amphisbaenian reptiles from contrasting environments

open access: yesJournal of Zoology, EarlyView.
Extreme events expected under climate change (prolonged drought or torrential rains) alter soil conditions, yet their effects on fossorial vertebrates remain understudied. We tested substrate selection across moisture levels in two amphisbaenians from contrasting climates: Blanus cinereus (Iberian temperate forest) and Trogonophis wiegmanni (North ...

Interrupted Sampling Repeater Jamming Recognition and Suppression Method Based on DBSCAN Algorithm

open access: yesIEEE Access
The interrupted sampling repeater jamming (ISRJ) is a type of coherent jamming that can not only improve the detection threshold of adjacent range cells but also induce the radar system to track a false target.

Sedimentology of silica granules and haematite in the 3.47 Ga Antarctic Creek Member, Mount Ada Basalt, Western Australia

open access: yesSedimentology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The Paleoarchean Antarctic Creek Member of the Mount Ada Basalt, Eastern Pilbara Terrane, Western Australia, includes beds of jasper and white chert composed of sand‐sized silica granules that often contain or are mixed with silt‐sized particles of haematite.
