Nanobiocatalysts: Potential Applications in Biofuel Production and Biotransformation

open access: yesCarbon Neutralization, Volume 5, Issue 3, May 2026.
The application of nanobiocatalysts in the field of biofuel production and the biotransformation of substrate were reviewed. Further, the possible research gaps in the field of biofuel and value‐added compound production and a possible way to enhance the application of nanobiocatalyst in future development are highlighted.

Influent Wastewater Microbiota and Temperature Influence Anaerobic Membrane Bioreactor Microbial Community [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Sustainable municipal wastewater recovery scenarios highlight benefits of anaerobic membrane bioreactors (AnMBRs). However, influences of continuous seeding by influent wastewater and temperature on attached-growth AnMBRs are not well understood. In this

Exploring the ferromagnetic behaviour of a repulsive Fermi gas via spin dynamics

open access: yes, 2017
Ferromagnetism is a manifestation of strong repulsive interactions between itinerant fermions in condensed matter. Whether short-ranged repulsion alone is sufficient to stabilize ferromagnetic correlations in the absence of other effects, like peculiar ...

Integrative Metabolomic and Transcriptomic Profiling Reveals the Chemical and Molecular Basis for Aroma Divergence in Isatis Fruits

open access: yesFood Frontiers, Volume 7, Issue 3, May 2026.
Integrative metabolomic and transcriptomic analyses revealed the chemical and molecular basis of aroma divergence in fruits of three Isatis species. Distinct volatile profiles and 44 key aroma‐active compounds defined species‐specific sensory characteristics, while co‐expression analysis identified NAC transcription factors and lipid‐derived pathway ...

Impact of conductive magnetite nanoparticles and anode polarization on glucose fermentation

open access: yesJournal of Chemical Technology &Biotechnology, Volume 101, Issue 5, Page 1027-1034, May 2026.
Abstract BACKGROUND Electrically conductive materials and electrochemical stimulation strategies are increasingly explored to steer microbial fermentation towards desired metabolic outputs. These approaches also hold remarkable potential to couple wastewater treatment (WWT) to the production of value‐added compounds, in turn enhancing environmental ...

Link Between Capacity for Current Production and Syntrophic Growth in Geobacter species

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2015
Electrodes are unnatural electron acceptors, and it is yet unknown how some Geobacter species evolved to use electrodes as terminal electron acceptors.

Universal and anomalous behavior in the thermalization of strongly interacting harmonically trapped gas mixtures

open access: yes, 2017
We report on the dynamics of thermalization by extending a generalization of the Caldeira-Leggett model, developed in the context of cold atomic gases confined in a harmonic trap, to higher dimensions. Universal characteristics en route to thermalization

Metabolism Controls the Timing of Human Brain Development and Maturation

open access: yesJournal of Inherited Metabolic Disease, Volume 49, Issue 3, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Among primates the human brain is the largest in size, exhibiting a higher neuronal density and connectivity. The prolonged expansion and subsequent connectome reorganization of the human brain have been suggested to promote higher cognitive and behavioral abilities.

Integrated Phytochemical Profiling and Multifunctional Bioactivities of Bellis annua Extracts Obtained by Distinct Extraction Techniques

open access: yesChemistryOpen, Volume 15, Issue 5, May 2026.
The present study evaluates the effect of maceration, Soxhlet, and ultrasound‐assisted extraction on the phytochemical composition and biological activities of Bellis annua. LC–ESI–MS/MS analysis revealed chlorogenic acid as the dominant compound, while UAE enhanced flavonoid content and overall antioxidant capacity.
