A description of dental microanatomy and implantation geometry in Chamaeleonidae

Journal of Anatomy, EarlyView.
A reassessment of the dental histology in adult chamaeleons reveals the presence of periodontal ligament. Alongside alveolar bone and cementum, these tissues together constitute a compacted and remodelled tripartite periodontium. Our findings include the novel observation of plicidentine‐like protuberances of dentine within underlying bone.

Integrative revision of the Australian carrion‐breeding Calliphorinae (Diptera: Calliphoridae): Revision of the Calliphora stygia‐ and ochracea‐groups

The Australian carrion‐breeding Calliphorinae are revised using an integrative approach combining morphology and mitogenomics. A new taxonomic key, morphological images and verified mitogenomic data, including COX1 barcodes, are provided to support the identification of species.

Cuscuta reflexa infection sites. Summary Cuscuta species are holoparasitic plants that penetrate host stems with haustoria, connect to the vasculature and exhaust water, nutrients and carbohydrates. Parasite seedlings possess only limited maternal reserves and the development of a vascular connection takes several days.

Cross‐ploidy hybridisation in Alpine woodrushes is associated with ecological additivity and scale‐dependent niche divergence

Genetic differentiation among the study species. Summary Hybridisation and whole‐genome duplication (WGD) are widespread in plants, yet their ecological consequences remain challenging to predict. In allopolyploids, where both processes coincide, ecological divergence is typically evaluated against a null hypothesis of ecological additivity.
