To introduce yellow colour in the commercial Buddleja davidii (2n = 4x = 76) assortment, an interspecific breeding programme with B. globosa (2n = 2x = 38) was started. The first step was to perform chromosome doubling in B. globosa.

Base temperature for node emission and plastochron determination in tomato species and their hybrids [PDF]
: The objective of this work was to estimate the base temperature for node emission and plastochron determination in wild species of tomato, in the Redenção cultivar, and in their respective interspecific F1 hybrids.

An asymmetric allelic interaction drives allele transmission bias in interspecific rice hybrids
Hybrid sterility (HS) between Oryza sativa (Asian rice) and O. glaberrima (African rice) is mainly controlled by the S1 locus. However, our limited understanding of the HS mechanism hampers utilization of the strong interspecific heterosis. Here, we show

Interspecific Hybridization Between Cyclic Parthenogens [PDF]
Taxonomic work has suggested that interspecific hybrids are common in freshwater rotifers and cladocerans. Hybrids within the cladoceran genera Bosmina and Daphnia are apparently common in the large lakes of western Europe (Lieder 1956, 1983a, 1983b; Einsle, 1966, 1978).

The Inheritance of Diagnostic Larval Traits for Interspecific Hybrids of \u3ci\u3ePapilio Canadensis\u3c/i\u3e and \u3ci\u3eP. Glaucus\u3c/i\u3e (Lepidoptera: Papilionidae) [PDF]
Traits distinguishing the closely related tiger swallowtail butterfly species, Papilio canadensis and P. glaucus, include fixed differences in diagnostic sex-linked and autosomal allozymes as well as sex-linked diapause regulation, and sex-linked ...

Cytomolecular identification of individual wheat-wheat chromosome arm associations in wheat-rye hybrids [PDF]
Chromosome pairing in the meiotic metaphase I of wheatrye hybrids has been characterized by sequential genomic and fluorescent in situ hybridization allowing not only the discrimination of wheat and rye chromosomes, but also the identification of the

Asymmetric somatic plant hybridization : status and applications [PDF]
To create asymmetric somatic hybrids, the genome of the so-called donor protoplast is fragmented prior to protoplast fusion. As a result, only a limited amount of the donor genome is transferred to the fusion product.

INTERSPECIFIC HYBRIDIZATION OF ORNITHOGALUM [PDF]
Three species of Ornithogalum are extensively grown. They are O. umbellatum, arabicum and thyrsoides. All three have white flowers. Another species, O. dubium, has deep orange flowers, but produces a weak inflorescence. Hybrids have been produced within a species but no wide crosses have been reported.
