Studies on variation in interspecific hybrids ofSaccharum
Sugar Tech, 2000The extent and pattern of variation were studied in F1 population of improvedS. officinarum xS. spontaneum and commercial hybrids xS. spontaneum obtained from six crosses. The study revealed the superiority of all the crosses for cane population and presence of substantial variability for further effective selection and utilisation.

Interspecific variation in epicuticular waxes of Chionochloa
Phytochemistry, 1988Abstract Interspecific variation in 19 species of Chionochloa was investigated by examining the major carbon chain lengths of fatty acids, alcohols, aldehydes, wax esters and alkanes of the epicuticular waxes. The chain lengths ranged from C24 to C32 in the acids, alcohol and aldehydes C21 to C33 in the alkanes and C34 to C52 in the wax esters.
