We revisit disjunctive interval analysis based on the Boxes abstract domain. We propose the use of what we call range decision diagrams (RDDs) to implement Boxes, and we provide algorithms for the necessary RDD operations. RDDs tend to be more compact than the linear decision diagrams (LDDs) that have traditionally been used for Boxes.

Analysis of gestational interval
American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, 1967The last menstrual period (LMP) date is a benchmark for duration of each pregnancy for lack of any readily available alternative. The derived interval, wrongly referred to as “weeks of gestation,” is assessed critically with respect to its dependability in terms of over 2,000 live births for which the LMP onset was currently recorded in a study of ...

INTERVAL ANALYSIS IN POWER ELECTRONICS
Journal of Circuits, Systems and Computers, 1995The use of Interval Analysis for numerical simulation of power electronic circuits is discussed in this paper. It is shown that Interval Analysis is an optimal tool for such kind of applications since switching circuits operate upon sequences of time intervals bounded by instants that are zeros of non-linear non-monotonic functions.

Reference Intervals in Coagulation Analysis
Hämostaseologie, 2022AbstractBlood coagulation analysis is characterized by the application of a variety of materials, reagents, and analyzers for the determination of the same parameter, or analyte, by different laboratories worldwide. Accordingly, the application of common reference intervals, that, by definition, would represent a “range of values (of a certain analyte)

Interval Analysis in Scheduling
2005This paper reconsiders the most basic scheduling problem, that of minimizing the makespan of a partially ordered set of activities, in the context of incomplete knowledge. While this problem is very easy in the deterministic case, its counterpart when durations are interval-valued is much trickier, as standard results and algorithms no longer apply ...

Interval Archetypes: A New Tool for Interval Data Analysis
Statistical Analysis and Data Mining: The ASA Data Science Journal, 2012AbstractArchetypal analysis aims at synthesizing single‐valued data sets through a few (not necessarily observed) points that are called archetypes, under the constraint that all points can be represented as a convex combination of the archetypes themselves and that the archetypes are a convex combination of the data.
