Association Between Individualized Education for Kidney Replacement Therapy Modality Selection and Peritoneal Dialysis Initiation: A Cross‐Sectional Study

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Peritoneal dialysis (PD) is an established home‐based kidney replacement therapy (KRT), but its uptake remains low in Japan. We evaluated whether individualized education in a dedicated outpatient clinic was associated with the initiation of PD.

Residual tail twisting in ascidian larvae is stabilized by asymmetric myofibrils that resist bilateral symmetry restoration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

Correlation of Fuzzy Numbers by α-Cut Method [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
In this paper, we propose a method to calculate the correlation coefficient of fuzzy numbers by means of "α-cut". This value obtained from our formula tells us not only the strength of relationship between the fuzzy numbers, but also whether the fuzzy ...

Numerical methods for analysis of mechanical systems with uncertain parameters

open access: yesProduction Engineering Archives, 2016
The paper presents new and improved numerical methods designed for analysis of mechanical systems with uncertain parameters. Uncertain parameters in mechanical systems are described by means of possibility theory. The main representatives of this theory

The human gut microbiome across the life course

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.

On some difference sequence spaces of interval numbers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
In this paper we introduce the sequence spaces c0i(∆) ,ci(∆) and li ∞(∆) of interval numbers and study some of their algebraic and topological properties.

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Double lacunary sequence spaces of double interval numbers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
In this paper we introduce the concepts of double lacunary strongly convergence and double lacunary statistical convergence of double interval numbers.

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...
