Comparison of the effect of rest interval between sets and set – repetition configuration during bouts of eccentric exercise on muscle damage and inflammatory markers

open access: yes, 2018
Background and Objective: Various studies have demonstrated that different rest Intervals has a significant effect on hormonal, metabolic and cardiovascular responses. This factors can lead to different muscle damage responses.

Longitudinal genome‐wide aneuploidy measurements in circulating cell‐free DNA to predict lack of benefit from pembrolizumab in patients with metastatic urothelial cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Many patients with urothelial cancer do not benefit from treatment with pembrolizumab, while at risk of severe side effects. Changes in the levels of circulating tumor DNA early during treatment, measured by a simple and affordable assay that can be easily implemented in the clinic, can be used as a prognostic tool to identify these patients.

Calculation of seismic regime parameters on the basis of a probabilistic model of Kamchatka earthquake catalogue

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2016
In the present paper on the basis of a probabilistic interpretation of the earthquake repetition law, simple formulas were obtained which allow us from the known number of earthquake events in a representative interval of energy class (magnitude) to ...

Solid-state YVO4/Nd:YVO4/KTP green laser system for the generation of subnanosecond pulses with adjustable kilohertz repetition rate

open access: yes, 2013
A solid-state green laser generating subnanosecond pulses with adjustable kilohertz repetition rate is presented. This pulse laser system is composed of a Q-switched and mode-locked YVO4/Nd:YVO4/KTP laser simultaneously modulated by an electro-optic ...

Reducing bias in auditory duration reproduction by integrating the reproduced signal [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Duration estimation is known to be far from veridical and to differ for sensory estimates and motor reproduction. To investigate how these differential estimates are integrated for estimating or reproducing a duration and to examine sensorimotor biases ...

Inhibition of cyclin‐dependent kinases 12/13 using CT7439 as a treatment for colorectal cancer with CDK12 upregulation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The proposed mechanism of action for the CDK12/13 inhibitor and cyclin K degrader, CT7439. CDK12/13 inhibition interrupts transcription elongation, leading to increased DNA damage that results in cell death. This agent is a potentially novel treatment option for patients with colorectal cancer. Created in BioRender. Cyclin‐dependent kinase (CDK) 12 and

ZW4864‐mediated inhibition of the β‐catenin/BCL9/BCL9L complex reveals therapeutic potential in bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
BCL9 and BCL9L drive bladder cancer progression by enhancing β‐catenin signaling, promoting proliferation, migration, invasion, and organoid growth. Genetic depletion of BCL9(L) suppresses malignant phenotypes, while pharmacological disruption of the β‐catenin/BCL9(L) complex with ZW4864 inhibits canonical Wnt signaling and tumor‐associated cellular ...

Rigorous Benchmarking in Reasonable Time [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Experimental evaluation is key to systems research. Because modern systems are complex and non-deterministic, good experimental methodology demands that researchers account for uncertainty.

Interaction of repetition and retention interval influences the transfer effect after answer feedback for episodic memory

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology
IntroductionRetrieval practice with answer feedback is an efficient way to enhance episodic memory, but previous studies fail to find a robust transfer of learning for non-trained information.
