Optimisation of Intervertebral Disc Mechanical Properties and the Impact of Vertebral Alignment in Subject‐Specific Finite Element Models [PDF]
Optimisation methods were compared for a porcine lumbar intervertebral disc model. Neither optimising with 6‐axis forces and moments nor optimising with disc pressures fully captured spinal behaviour. Addressing model limitations could improve the process.

Human Disc Degeneration Is Accompanied by a Loss of Anterior Annulus Fibrosus Interlamellar Matrix Integrity as Assessed by Peel Tests. [PDF]
Disc degeneration (DD) is associated with reduced mechanical integrity of the interlamellar matrix (ILM) in the annulus fibrosus (AF), as demonstrated by significantly lower Peel Stiffness, Peel Strength, Peel Toughness, and Standard Deviation of the Peel Stress in the Peel Region in DD samples compared to non‐DD samples.

Management of a Rare Case of C2–3 Cervical Foraminal Disc Herniation by Unilateral Biportal Endoscopic Foraminotomy [PDF]
Foraminal disc herniation at the C2–3 level is a very rare entity, for which a consensus treatment protocol has not been established. This case report explains that unilateral biportal endoscopic foraminotomy is a very effective, minimally invasive, and ...
