The occurrence of vascular displacement into intervertebral disc space following the compensated sagittal imbalance of the spine: a case report and review of literature

open access: closedEuropean Spine Journal, 2015
It is known that sagittal compensating mechanisms are created for counteracting sagittal imbalance problems; however, they can sometimes be associated with incidents which affect the plan of management. The purpose of this study was to report a case of the occurrence of common iliac vessel displacement into the intervertebral disc space following one of

Normalization of Spinal Cord Displacement With the Straight Leg Raise and Resolution of Sciatica in Patients With Lumbar Intervertebral Disc Herniation

open access: closedSpine, 2019
Study Design. A controlled radiologic follow-up study. Objective. The aim of this study was to ascertain whether changes in cord excursion with straight leg raise test (SLR) at 1.5-year follow-up time accompany changes in clinical symptoms.

[Conservative treatment of lumbar intervertebral disc displacement and its limits].

open access: closedFortschritte der Medizin, 1978
Non-surgical therapy of lumbar disc protrusions is based on complete differential diagnosis. Drug therapy means mainly muscle relaxants partly combined with analgetics. Physiotherapy is important, especially gymnastics and swimming. Chirotherapy is in most cases useful, but if 3 or 4 therapeutic sessions are without success, operation will be necessary.

Research on the influence of the properties of intervertebral disc stiffness of the lumbar spine on the displacement of veretbrae

2015
The article proposes the method for evaluating angular and linear changes in intervertebral discs of the spine depending on linear and nonlinear intervertebral disc stiffness. A dynamic made of 5 solid bodies connected by damping and stiffness components and applied for 2-D 10 degrees of freedom of the lumbar spine has been used for calculations.
