Treatment of Canine Intervertebral Disc Displacement With Chondroitinase ABC
Spine, 1997This study demonstrated the therapeutic value of chemonucleolysis with chondroitinase ABC to canine intervertebral disc displacement. To determine the efficacy of Chondroitinase ABC in the management of canine intervertebral disc displacement. No previous study has assessed the chemonucleolysis with chondroitinase ABC in the displaced discs.

The movement of cross sections of the monofilament nylon threads inserted into the axially loaded intervertebral disc was traced with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). This technique allowed the observation of the sequential solid phase displacement of the loaded intervertebral disc.To clarify sequential solid phase displacement of the axially loaded ...

PurposeNoninvasive assessment of tissue mechanical behavior could enable insights into tissue function in healthy and diseased conditions and permit the development of effective tissue repair treatments. Measurement of displacements under applied loading with MRI (dualMRI) has the potential for such biomechanical characterization on a clinical MRI ...

Abstract We have developed a simple, low-cost, and innovative design — known as a “disc emulator” to mimic the mechanical response of a motion segment (vertebra - intervertebral disc-vertebra) of the human spinal column under axial compression loads.

It is known that sagittal compensating mechanisms are created for counteracting sagittal imbalance problems; however, they can sometimes be associated with incidents which affect the plan of management. The purpose of this study was to report a case of the occurrence of common iliac vessel displacement into the intervertebral disc space following one of

[Conservative treatment of lumbar intervertebral disc displacement and its limits].
Fortschritte der Medizin, 1978Non-surgical therapy of lumbar disc protrusions is based on complete differential diagnosis. Drug therapy means mainly muscle relaxants partly combined with analgetics. Physiotherapy is important, especially gymnastics and swimming. Chirotherapy is in most cases useful, but if 3 or 4 therapeutic sessions are without success, operation will be necessary.
