A distinct Acyl-CoA binding protein (ACBP6) shapes tissue plasticity during nutrient adaptation in Drosophila

open access: yesNature Communications, 2023
Nutrient availability is a major selective force in the evolution of metazoa, and thus plasticity in tissue function and morphology is shaped by adaptive responses to nutrient changes. Utilizing Drosophila, we reveal that distinct calibration of acyl-CoA

Adaptation of Intestinal Lactase in the Rat

open access: yesGastroenterology, 1969
A study was undertaken to adapt intestinal lactase activity in adult rats. After 5 to 8 weeks on a 30% lactose diet, a significant increase in jejunal lactase activity was observed. A similar, but smaller rise was found using a 30% glucose diet.
