High‐Performance Recyclable Polyester Elastomers Through Transient Strain‐Stiffening

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Transient strain‐crystallization simultaneously strengthens and toughens block polyester elastomers while conserving recyclability. Using controlled polymerization catalysis and commercial monomers, block polyester elastomers outperform current commercial elastomers, entering a new region of tensile mechanical property space.

Prebiotics and Intestinal Flora

open access: yesBioscience and Microflora, 2002
During the past 5 decades, research in intestinal flora has made rapid progress, which includes the following: (1) development of a comprehensive culture method; (2) establishment of the classification and identification of intestinal anaerobic bacteria; (3) accumulation of microecological evidence and the beneficial and harmful functions of intestinal

Role of CD38 in mediating the effect of Bacillus on acute pancreatitis: a study of mediated Mendelian randomization

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology
BackgroundSome studies suggest a potential link between intestinal flora and acute pancreatitis (AP). However, the causal relationships between specific intestinal flora and AP, and the possible mediating role of immune cell traits, remain unclear ...

Human anaerobic intestinal "rope" parasites [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2013
Human intestinal helminths are described in this paper. They can be over a meter long, with an irregular cylindrical shape, resembling a rope. These anaerobic intestinal "rope" parasites differ significantly from other well-known intestinal parasites. Rope parasites can leave human body with enemas, and are often mistaken for intestinal lining, feces ...

The effects of diet on the intestinal flora [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Infectious Diseases, 1921
It has long been recognized that certain pathologic conditions in man are associated with an intestinal flora that is markedly putrefactive in type. Headaches, skin disorders, digestive disturbances, nonalcoholic cirrhosis, nervous abnormalities and cardio-vascular-renal disease have been attributed with more or less reason to the effects of excessive ...
