Intestinal anisakiasis with severe intestinal ischemia caused by extraluminal live larvae : a case report

open access: yes, 2020
Background Anisakiasis is a parasitic infection caused by Anisakis worms found in raw fish. Most cases of anisakiasis occur in the stomach and rarely occur in the intestine.

Loss of SHP1 in Spinal Astrocytes Triggers T‐Lymphocyte Infiltration and Nociceptive Hypersensitivity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Astrocyte‐specific SHP1 deletion disrupts astrocyte–vascular interactions and compromises BBB integrity while enhancing STAT1‐dependent CXCL10 expression. These changes synergistically promote peripheral CD4+ and CD8+ T‐cell infiltration into the SDH. The infiltrating T cells secrete IFN‐γ, which in turn activates microglia.

Estradiol prevented intestinal ischemia and reperfusion-induced changes in intestinal permeability and motility in male rats [PDF]

open access: yesClinics
OBJECTIVES: Ischemia and reperfusion (I/R) in the intestine could lead to severe endothelial injury, compromising intestinal motility. Reportedly, estradiol can control local and systemic inflammation induced by I/R injury.

Open abdomen in acute mesenteric ischemia

open access: yes, 2019
In acute mesenteric ischemia, early diagnosis should optimally be followed by either open or endovascular intestinal revascularization. All too often, diagnosis is delayed and diagnosis and treatment are performed at the same time during explorative ...

Intestinal Ischemia: US-CT findings correlations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Background: Intestinal ischemia is an abdominal emergency that accounts for approximately 2% of gastrointestinal illnesses. It represents a complex of diseases caused by impaired blood perfusion to the small and/ or large bowel including acute arterial ...

Rhoifolin Alleviates Ulcerative Colitis by Targeting NMNAT1 and Activating SIRT1‐FOXO1 Signaling to Enhance ILC3s Effector Function

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Rhoifolin directly targets NMNAT1, thereby activating nicotinamide salvage pathway and promoting intracellular NAD+ biosynthesis. Elevated NAD+ levels enhance SIRT1 activity, leading to FOXO1 deacetylation and nuclear translocation. Nuclear FOXO1 subsequently binds to the IL‐22 promoter, upregulating IL‐22 transcription and potentiating ILC3 effector ...

Interleukin-6 Therapy Improves Intestinal Recovery Following Ischemia [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Background: Interleukin-6 (IL6) has both proinflammatory and anti-inflammatory pathways, but its effects on intestinal recovery following ischemia are unknown.

Stress Hyperglycemia Drives CD4+ T Cell PANoptosis and Postoperative Organ Injury via Monocyte‐Derived Succinate

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
High glucose is linked to reduced succinate dehydrogenase activity in CD14+ monocytes, accompanied by succinate accumulation and extracellular release. Extracellular succinate exacerbates mitochondrial ROS production and mtDNA release in CD4+ T cells. Cytosolic mtDNA then activates Z‐DNA binding protein 1 (ZBP1) and engages ZBP1‐associated inflammatory
