Congenital mesenteric absence of mid-gut with ileal volvulus: a case report
Background Transmesenteric hernia caused by mesenteric defects are rare causes of intestinal obstruction in children. Here, we report a rare mesenteric defect, which was completely mesenteric in absence, with the defect extending from the mesenteric root

Phytobezoar (Mangifera indica seeds) induced Acute Small Bowel Obstruction: An Unusual Case
Phytobezoar causing acute intestinal obstruction is a rare event. A case of accidental ingestion of mango seed causing intestinal obstruction is being reported requiring surgical intervention to extract the mango seed from the ileum.

TRPM8 levels determine tumor vulnerability to channel agonists
TRPM8 is a Ca2+ permissive channel. Regardless of the amount of its transcript, high levels of TRPM8 protein mark different tumors, including prostate, breast, colorectal, and lung carcinomas. Targeting TRPM8 with channel agonists stimulates inward calcium currents followed by emptying of cytosolic Ca2+ stores in cancer cells.

Role of Multislice Computed Tomography in Evaluation and Management of Intestinal Obstruction
The aims and objectives of this study were: i) to evaluate the efficacy of computed tomography (CT) imaging in diagnosing the presence, level, degree, and cause of intestinal obstruction, and the role of CT in detecting presence of complications; ii) to ...

Overexpression of CHRDL2 in colon cancer cells makes them more stem‐like and resistant to chemo‐ and radiotherapy. CHRDL2‐high cells have upregulation of the WNT pathway, genes involved in the DNA damage response (DDR) pathway and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT). This leads to quicker repair of damaged DNA and more cell migration.

EMT‐associated bias in the Parsortix® system observed with pancreatic cancer cell lines
The Parsortix® system was tested for CTC enrichment using pancreatic cancer cell lines with different EMT phenotypes. Spike‐in experiments showed lower recovery of mesenchymal‐like cells. This was confirmed with an EMT‐inducible breast cancer cell line.
