A Compact, High‐Performance, and Deformation‐Resilient Trielectrode Electrostatic Soft Pump for Soft Robotics

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2025.
Existing soft pumps often require tradeoffs between performance and compatibility with soft robotic systems. The proposed trielectrode electrostatic soft pump addresses these limitations through an innovative driving mechanism. Its design, which includes a trielectrode configuration and the use of compliant materials, improves operational efficiency ...

Anatomy of the alimentary tract of Salminus brasiliensis (Cuvier, 1817) (Pisces, Characidae, Salmininae) [PDF]

open access: yesBiotemas, 2008
The alimentary tract of Salminus brasiliensis shows anatomic adaptations to its carnivorous, ichthyophagous feeding habit, particularly regarding the distensible esophagus and stomach, especially the caecal region, and the relatively short intestine. The

Double Helix Structure for Stable Flexural Actuation in Soft Robotics

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This work introduces a double‐helical architecture for soft robotic actuators that enhances twisting resistance, increases output force, and minimizes undesired deformation. Actuators driven by shape‐memory alloy wires exhibit a roughly fivefold higher torsional/flexural stiffness ratio and 50% greater force output.

Small‐Scale Magnetic Peristaltic Soft Robot With Mobility and Transport Capabilities

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This study introduces a miniature, untethered soft magnetic microrobot with peristaltic capabilities for both locomotion and cargo transport. Eight helically magnetized elastomeric strips deform under rotating fields (10–80 mT, 1–5 Hz), enabling movement across rods and lumina at up to 4.1 body lengths min‐¹.

Digital Twins for the Design, Interactive Control, and Deployment of Modular, Fiber‐Reinforced Soft Continuum Arms

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
A digital twin framework is presented for modular soft continuum arms built from fiber‐reinforced pneumatic actuators. Cosserat rod models describe individual actuators, while virtual assemblies are formed through serial and parallel networks, preserving actuator‐level architecture and arm deformation.

Eltrombopag Added to Standard Immunosuppressive Treatment as Front‐Line Therapy for Severe Aplastic Anemia: Long‐Term Outcomes of the Phase‐3 Randomized Superiority EBMT‐SAAWP RACE Study

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Hematology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The RACE study (NCT02009747) compared horse antithymocyte globulin (hATG) plus cyclosporine A (CsA) ± eltrombopag as initial immunosuppressive treatment (IST) for severe aplastic anemia. Here we report the final 2‐year analysis of this prospective randomized phase III study.

Systematic Cardiac Phenotyping of Patients With Copy Number Variants in the 15q11.2 Breakpoint 1 to Breakpoint 2 Region: A Retrospective Cohort Study From Nine Pediatric Cardiac Centers

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Microdeletions impacting 15q11.2 breakpoint (BP) 1 to BP2, adjacent to the Prader–Willi critical region, have previously described neuropsychiatric associations, with potential low penetrance presentations of congenital heart disease (CHD) also identified.

The Role of Glutamatergic and Dopaminergic Genes in Resistant Schizophrenia: A Systematic Review

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part B: Neuropsychiatric Genetics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Psychosis is a heterogeneous disorder, with approximately one‐third of patients experiencing treatment resistance, predominantly among individuals diagnosed with Schizophrenia. Treatment‐resistant schizophrenia (TRS) may stem from a distinct biological signature, involving abnormalities in the dopaminergic and glutamatergic systems.
