Chronic consumptive coagulopathy due to intracardiac thrombus
The American Journal of Medicine, 1987A patient with a consumptive coagulopathy of 11 months' duration that was due to a large left atrial mural thrombus is described. Bleeding occurred only with the hemostatic challenge of surgery. Heparin was used perioperatively to facilitate two surgical procedures. The coagulopathy was reversed by removal of the thrombus.

Intracardiac thrombus formation in association with hydatid disease
European Heart Journal, 1990Cardiac hydatid disease is rare, but life threatening. A pedunculated hydatid cyst which mimicked a left atrial myxoma was diagnosed on two-dimensional echocardiography. The degree of cardiac involvement at necropsy was much greater than indicated by either echocardiography or limited cardiac catheterization.

Intracardiac thrombus in murine coxsackievirus B3 myocarditis
Heart and Vessels, 1992We studied the appearance of intracardiac mural thrombi with time and the relationship between thrombosis and congestive heart failure (CHF) in murine coxsackievirus B3 (CB3) myocarditis. Four- to six-week-old C3H/He mice were inoculated intraperitoneally with CB3 and were observed for 90 days.
