HICH Image/Text (HICH-IT): Comprehensive Text and Image Datasets for Hypertensive Intracerebral Hemorrhage Research [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
In this paper, we introduce a new dataset in the medical field of hypertensive intracerebral hemorrhage (HICH), called HICH-IT, which includes both electronic medical records (EMRs) and head CT images. This dataset is designed to enhance the accuracy of artificial intelligence in the diagnosis and treatment of HICH.

The Worrisome Impact of an Inter-rater Bias on Neural Network Training [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
The problem of inter-rater variability is often discussed in the context of manual labeling of medical images. The emergence of data-driven approaches such as Deep Neural Networks (DNNs) brought this issue of raters' disagreement to the front-stage.

Inflammatory responses after intracerebral hemorrhage: From cellular function to therapeutic targets

open access: yesJournal of Cerebral Blood Flow and Metabolism, 2018
Inflammatory responses occur rapidly after intracerebral hemorrhage and participate in both short-term toxicity and long-term recovery. Microglia/macrophages react to hemorrhagic injury and exhibit dynamic phenotypes and phagocytic capability. Astrocytes

Microbial Colonization and Associated Factors in Indwelling Urinary Catheters: A Cross‐Sectional Study

open access: yesResearch in Nursing &Health, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study aimed to determine microbial colonization in indwelling urinary catheters (UCs) and identify patient‐specific risk factors associated with this colonization. This cross‐sectional study involved 61 hospitalized intensive care unit patients with indwelling UCs.

Urinary Proteomics and Systems Biology Link Eight Proteins to the Higher Risk of Hypertension and Related Complications in Blacks Versus Whites

open access: yesPROTEOMICS, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Blacks are more prone to salt‐sensitive hypertension than Whites. This cross‐sectional analysis of a multi‐ethnic cohort aimed to search for proteins potentially involved in the susceptibility to salt sensitivity, hypertension, and hypertension‐related complications.

Abnormal dynamic functional connectivity in young nondisabling intracerebral hemorrhage patients

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology
Objective Previous resting‐state functional magnetic resonance imaging studies on intracerebral hemorrhage patients have focused more on the static characteristics of brain activity, while the time‐varying effects during scanning have received less ...

Self‐reported physical activity more than 1 year after stroke and its determinants in relation to the WHO recommendations

open access: yesPM&R, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Physical activity (PA) after stroke has significant health benefits if it is conducted regularly, with sufficient intensity and duration. Because of the health benefits, it is important to identify those below the World Health Organization (WHO) recommended level of PA. However, few studies have assessed the level of PA after stroke

ICH-SCNet: Intracerebral Hemorrhage Segmentation and Prognosis Classification Network Using CLIP-guided SAM mechanism [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is the most fatal subtype of stroke and is characterized by a high incidence of disability. Accurate segmentation of the ICH region and prognosis prediction are critically important for developing and refining treatment plans for post-ICH patients.

Self‐reported sleep disturbances and its determinants in people 1 year or more after stroke: A cross‐sectional study

open access: yesPM&R, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Survivors of stroke commonly report sleep disturbances. Studies of sleep disturbances after stroke are mostly performed in the acute phase. An increased knowledge of sleep disturbances and its determinants a longer time after stroke is needed to improve treatment and rehabilitation.
